OCPN Draw-Pi, big data import

Hallo,
i have some questions about opencpn and the draw-pi.
My installation:
Win11, OpenCPN 5.6, OpenCPN Draw-PI 1.8.14.0
Charts:
OpenSeaMap: OSM-OpenCPN2-NorthSea.mbtiles
May be possible Idea:
Because the charts didn't come with depth data,
i want to 'add' the depths by "drawing" the depths via the draw pi (TextPoint but also depth/contur-Lines).
After 'drawing'/processing them, export the whole lines and TextPoints of depths as a seperate photo layer (Geotiff?), for a fast usage.
The depth data source:
EMODNet high resolution bathymetry data, file format "EmodNet csv".
https://portal.emodnet-bathymetry.eu/
My Questions:
Is it possible (limitations of drawing points/lines?) to process so much data via the draw pi?
Is it possible to export it after processing it to geotiff or something like that (for a faster usage)?
I tryed to change the EmodNet csv to a valid import csv file, but my editor is not able to handle such big files, so may be someone is able to write a script to convert the source csv file to the target csv format?

I don't see any option for downloading this format. They are mentioned in the Help file but they are not among the available formats. Could you explain how the .csv files are downloaded? Or perhaps attach a small section of such a file.

Re: OCPN Draw-Pi, big data import

Has OP considered using SAT2CHART (and possibly SASPLANET) to add depths from csv file?

I do this regularly.

http://www.gdayii.ca/Downloads.php

Also, Paul Higgins has just completed (past 7 days) a utility to add depths from csv file to a pre-existing mbtiles file.

Yes see hardcopy attached and look for the red circle.
first klick on "download"
then klick on "high reolution area"
then selekt one of the yellow areas
Result should be a download list,
then fill out the form with your meail adress,
after gernerating the file, you will receive links for direct download.
the EmodNet csv format is decribed as:
EMODnet CSV (EMO)files:
The EMO file is a comma separated file containing the following fields: Longitude, Latitude, Depth Minimum for the grid cell, Depth Maximum, Depth Average, Depth Standard deviation, Number of interpolation values used, Number of used elementary Surfaces, Average smoothed depth value, Offset of smoothed depth with respect to the average depth, CDI Identification (reference of the most significant survey used for this grid cell), DTM Identification (reference for the most significant DTM used for this grid cell)
Details you will find here:

Sat2Chart now has a utility to add depths to an mbtiles chart. I have just created a new test version for users to try you can download it here:

http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/Testing_S....V15.0.4.4.exe

The attachment shows an example of depths added to a mbtiles.

Many thanks for the link and information!
It is near by the solution of my issue, but (sorry for the but ;-)
it seems that your example shows a SasPlanet picture(?) with added depth-points. I have the issue to add to existing local mbtiles-charts the depths. (to these charts: https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstr...harts/mbtiles/).

And not only "depth points", also depth lines (e.g. 2m lines), i want to realize. And last but not least, i dream of a kind of "interactive chart" - with static data (locations of islands, seamarks and so on... like displayed in my actual mbtiles-charts), and dynamic-data depending on date/time (depth, depth-lines, currents, tides and so on), displayed on a separeted layer, depending on the actual time... just a dream?

Frank,

Email me and attach the Add_Depths.log and also that .emo file of depths.
My email is in the Help and the top.

That log will be in C:\SAT2CHART\SAT2CHART.V15.0.4.4

Paul

Re: OCPN Draw-Pi, big data import

Looking at the code where it failed, there seems to be a problem with the .mbtiles. Does it display on OpenCPN?

Anyway send the Add_Depths.log and that depths file.
