With your file "Single SART activation.nmea" that does not have Cog & Sog.
If the mmsi has not been entered into Ship>Mmsi, then when the Mob/Sart first appears there is an normal alert which is not entered into the Route Manager > Waypoints. If you don't acknowledge the alert, additional Mob/Sart waypoints are not added to the Route Manager.

If you enter the MOB/sart in MMSI and click the Mob/Sart checkbox, every minute you will want to Acknowledge the Aert to prevent Mob/Sart waypoints every second. Or you will want to check the Ignore box or remove the mmsi number from the list.

The Mob/Sart waypoints shown are from the other file yesterday.

I’m glad to hear that! I was just about to reply saying it didn’t sound very different. I’ll be back home again tomorrow and will try 4.99 then. Thanks for the update.

I tested 4.99 with my testcase last night.

With the MMSI entered and set as an MOB device, when a SART message is received an MOB alarm is activated and a single MOB waypoint is generated. No further ones are generated regardless of whether the alert is acknowledged or not.

With two SART activations within a few seconds of each other at exactly the same position one MOB waypoint is generated. Over the next while I'll try and generate a test case that sends messages at sightly different locations to emulate a drifting MOB. I'll report on that when I have done it.

This is a great improvement, thanks to all involved.

Hi Rick,

No problem testing with the notes but it’ll be a while I’m afraid. The PC with 4.99 on it is at home and I’m travelling again. I’m due home for one day this week and then away for another 5 days. I’ll do it as soon as I can.

Re capturing a test activation, we have three AIS SARTs but they are all sealed into life jackets now, however I captured a test activation before installation I should have that with me, I’ll look tomorrow.

Hi Rick,

As requested attached is a sample SART test message, captured from a McMurdo S20 SART. Look in the south east of Ireland (52 38.6403 N 007 13.3942 W) if you can't find anything after you have played it with VDR.

In case someone reading this is not familiar with SARTs, they can transmit a test message which is similar to but not identical to a real emergency activation. This is a capture of such a test message.
