Open CPN question for my Cap’t

Hello y’all,
First thank you for letting me join. Secondly, I have a problem. Do any of you know if this Nav software works on an iPad? My Cap’t is having real difficulty. He has newest version so it isn’t the platform. We are meeting him tonight so if any of you have some tips, I sure could use ‘em.

I use OpenCPN on my boat running on a Dell laptop. I have a WiFi hotspot that both the laptop and an iPad in a weather-resistant case connect into. I then use the free app RD Client from Microsoft to remote desktop into the laptop for navigation tasks in the cockpit. IMO, this is a much preferable approach to running navs natively on iPad without telemetery from the instruments.

OpenCPN does not run on iOS (iPAD & iPhone).



I run OpenCpn on PC laptop (inside boat) and Android (cockpit and everywhere).
