Open CPNon Mac, 10.10, Failure to launch

Good morning,

I have downloaded OpenCPN for Mac and apparently successfully installed. All pretty GUI messages say so, It's in my app folder. On opening I get a blank screen for up to 2-3 seconds, that screen/window closes and a failure to open message appears, the Apple error report shows up and dialog asking if I want to reopen in safe mode. I've tried that, same result.

Any input from the elders?

Bruce

Not without additional information. Please attach the content of the "apple error report".

Just a guess, but this is an old Mac with a Core2Duo processor?

This problem has been reported via flyspray.

h-a-berr was correct, the libraries used in current OpenCPN app bundle are unfortunately compiled for more modern processors than yours. No workaround except using a custom build is unfortunately available at the moment.

Nohal,

No problem, the R Pi is coming soon and I'll be getting that system together. I just wanted to explore the OpenCPN at home a bit.

This Mac was a good deal when I got it on craigslist years ago and it Zooms with my buddies just fine. As long as I can burn an SD correctly I'll be happy.
