No, just select the charts folder at the top of the window and click on "Delete", just on the right. And updating the content of groups of charts will of itself.

Not my point. I wish to delete a chart file that was previously added to a chart group. Cannot do that. Thought that by right clicking on the undesired chart file would give me that option. Doesn't do that.

My workaround is to create another group with the same name and then add only the desired chart files. Then I delete the older group containing the chart file I no longer wish it to have.

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

yachtvahalla,

Seems to me I saw an option when left clicking on a chart to remove the chart from chart quilt - or similar vernacular. Also, if you know the name of the chart you wish to remove, can't you just rename it with a .bak extension and then do a full database rebuild? The chart will be skipped.

Again, not my point. I am trying to delete a chart file from a chart group that previously was in the group buy not wanted to be there now. Apparently once a chart file has been added to a chart group it cannot be removed.

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

yachtvahalla,

I don't know which OS you are using, but if it were linux your opencpn.conf file would be located in /home/username/.opencpn The dot preceding the 'opencpn' makes the file system hidden unless you indicate in your file browser settings you want hidden file systems to display. Don't know where the file is located in a Windows environment. Anyway, I'll wager that if you find and open your opencpn.conf file in a file editor you'll see your chart groups listed there. Just edit the file out. An '#' preceding the chart name makes the line a comment - ignored by programs. Should accomplish your objective. BUT, BEFORE YOU EDIT THE FILE SAVE THE UNCHANGED FILE AS 'opencpn.conf.orig'. Then edit the file and save as opencpn.conf Don't be surprised if next time you start OpenCPN it exclaims no charts have been selected... In this case you may have the opportunity to recreate your chart groups from scratch. You also have the original opencpn.conf you can rename from opencpn.conf.orig to opencpn.conf if you don't like the outcome.

I am using Windows XP and also 7 Ultimate. And reading how complicated such a simple thing would be in Linux I am glad that is what I am using.

Will stick with my workaround but it's still a snag in the program.

If you enlarged the window down, another box will appear with delete.

Just a note 3.0.2 successfully installs from source on Motorola Xoom running Debian Squeeze in a chroot environment.

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

3.2.0 also builds and installs from source on Raspberry Pi

I've made a .deb package available for download, and a script to build from scratch: Raspberry Ripple

It was a bit slow to start off, but now that my chart information is cached it's looking good.

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

I just built the 32 bit Intel Mac version. It seems to run OK, other than missing the plug-ins (dashboard, grib). The reason for that seems to be some errors with the link locations.

Greg

The errors on build are as follows:

Re: OpenCPN 3.2.0 Released

Greg,

Your image of the build errors is too small for me to read on my tablet. So, I don't know if errors related to the pugins are in the output. Were the plugins built aand installed? If so, you should find them in the OpenCPN filesystem (folder). If they were successfully built my experience suggests you'll need to change their permissions to rwx-rw-rw.

Has this new release solved the problem of win7 64 bit used with the BU353 GPS puck?

Mike...
This part of the code is completely rewritten and yes, so far we believe this particular problem is solved.

It looks like that! A fix for the problem was submitted something like three months ago, and we have not had any negative reports after that. Fingers crossed etc.......
