OpenCPN 4.2 "Use nearby waypoint?" makes program unresponsive in Windows 10

Had a problem with OpenCPN locking up (unresponsive) when creating a route and getting the message "Use nearby waypoint?"

Downloaded again. Trojan Detected by Windows Defender. Turned off, downloaded and scanned with MalawareBytes. No issue. Installed. Same problem. Reported to Microsoft.

Reverted to 4.0. Problem gone.

Hello Jfwg, hello Firilla,

This is a bug that was discovered just after the release of version 4.2. This has nothing to do with a virus or Trojean. You are not alone in experiencing this problem. In France, there are many who raises too.

BDBCAT has implemented a correction but this correction will only be effective when the next version of OpenCPN out.

The simplest, meanwhile, is to place the new waypoint routes near the old already existing waypoint, then closer, manually, new waypoints of old waypoints.

I've got the same problem on a friend's computer, running under W7.
It does'nt happen on my own, an old PC running under XP... I've not yet tried with W 8.1...
Otherwise, ther's another solution: right click on the road (not on the way-point) and choose "extend the road" (or continue..., in french it's "prolonger la route")... it works
