OpenCPN 5.2.4 and OeSENC compatibility

I am running OpenCPN 5.2.4 on Raspberry Pi 4. When I try to install the OeSENC plugin using the plugin manager from the options menu it downloads and starts the install with oeSENC 4.2.19.10 It then says it is not compatible with this version of OpenCPN and disables it. I have checked the log but it seems to say the same thing:

Any ideas ? Is this version on oeSENC compatible ?

Is your computer time set to the right value??
If the current date/time is before the date/time value of the file you might get this error.

Re: OpenCPN 5.2.4 and OeSENC compatibility

I have been in contact with o-charts.org and their response was:

Hi Benjamin,
There is a small bug in OpenCPN that will be fixed on next versions. Please open an terminal and type this to install a required package:

sudo apt install opencpn-sglock-arm32

You are right something is not working as it should with the oeSENC plugin on Raspberry. I have been able to reproduce your issue.
I will escalate this to plugin developers and I will back to you with a solution ASAP.

Same issue.

Is there a way to back to the old version of the plugin?

Re: OpenCPN 5.2.4 and OeSENC compatibility

All....
oeSENC_PI Version 4.2.19.16 is now available in the Master plugin catalog.
This version corrects the load problem observed on rPI Buster and OpenPlotter. Please update your catalog, and install the newest version.

Let us know if any further problems are noted.

Thanks for your patience.

Re: OpenCPN 5.2.4 and OeSENC compatibility

Dave,

thanks for your fix. Unfortunately OpenCPN crashes when activating the updated plugin. DO I need to delete and reinstall the charts?

OpenCPN 5.2.4. on a Raspberry Pi 4 and Openplotter.

Re: OpenCPN 5.2.4 and OeSENC compatibility

Manfred,

we have the feedback from another (German) user who had success with 4.2.19.16 on a RasPi4. So not a general problem anymore.
Can you generate a crash dump? What happens if you rename the OpenCPN.conf file to force a start with a virgin setting?

Charts shall behave completely normal. No re-install required. But in the case your set is broken somehow. With a new setting file you will need to reinstall of course.

Hubert,

I did rename OpenCPN.conf and OpenCPN was starting without issues. Not surprisingly, I was back to default, so I had to download my charts and install them.
This seems to have worked well, since I can see the green chart boundaries in the OpenCPN window. When I accept the End User License Agreement it crashes again.

I have the log file, but I'd rather send it to you via email than pasting it here to the forum.

Maybe you can PN me your email adress.

Thanks,

Manfred

All....
oeSENC_pi Version 4.2.19.21 is now available from the master plugin catalog.
You may like to install this version to resolve some recent troubles with rPI compatibility.

@Aldebaran17:
If you still encounter problems, please PM your logfile to me directly, and I will analyze it.

Thanks, and Good Luck
