OpenCPN 5.6.2 crashes after activating a route

Dear all,

First: Yes, I have used the search function, but didn't find anything obvious.


The problem: .



I wanted to run the latest version of OpenCPN and the pypilot plugin.

Whenever activating a route, OpenCPN crashes shortly after activating. This can ba a created route, it can be a immediate goto route, whatever. This happens with pypilot plugin startet or without.



I am running on Windows 11 AND Raspberry (Bullseye with flatpak) the same problem. Interestingly, the first active waypoint, which was indicated by this red "flashing" ring does not "flash" instead it remains the "normal" waypoint-icon.



This is such an usual function, that I cannot believe it is a "real" OpenCPN bug, however it happens to me on two different platforms.



Is there somebody who could probably helo me? I have the crash reports here on my windows system (after having purged OpenCPN from the system and cleaned up any resistat folders, etc. and re-installed the whole thing with all the plugins, I am using. So, I am out of my wits...

Dear all, I think I have found the "culprit". After removing the "Autopilot Route" plugin, things seem to run again as "normal". At least the system doesn't crash. I have to test. Maybe Sean has a minute to spare on this, do I do anything wrong?
