OpenCPN 5.8.3 and Radar 5.5.0 error

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04. Installed opencpn from jammy ppa, and radar 5.5.0 from master catalog.


Immediately gives error:

What am I missing?

The error message says that it can't find a wxWidgets v3.2 library call. This means that you are using an OpenCPN version that is not built with wxWidgets 3.2.

You can verify this with an `lsof -p <pid-of-opencpn>` command, and check what version of wxWidgets is loaded. My prediction is you're using wx 3.0.

So the fix is to use a correct version of OpenCPN. Now I don't know how your PPA setup is done. You could try and fix this.

Probably the best long-term and short-term solution is to switch to Flatpak.

By the way, OpenCPN 5.8.3 sounds fishy. I don't think O is at 5.8.3 yet.
