OpenCPN 5.8.4 Android - Clearing AnchorWatch Marker w Touchscreeen

Hi Community

my first thread so hopefully I didnt miss a sub category for Android topics.

I noticed playing with new setup (BlissOS latest on Intel Celeron with Dell touchscreen) and played around with features and setups I used to have on my rpi4 - (works well btw - thx) and one of the features was setting anchor drop marker with radius for watch. Ok that worked with touch and it appeared as circle and boat outside circle as red zagged circle - ok - but then I tried to deactivate or get rid of it and thats where trouble started
I got only into waypoint settings itself but not context menu of waypoint where you can delete or deactivate anchor watch.

now that I played around and deactivated display of marker symbol in preferences I only see zagged circle but cant do anything with waypoint.

Anybody suggestions or directions?

figure if worse comes worst I can find config file with waypoint and delete it out with editor?

thx everybody and great one!

Easy. Two options

- long press on anchor watch icon and select "clear anchor watch"

(clears anchor watch but keeps waypoint)

OR

- long press on anchor watch icon and "delete marker"

Thanks SV_Pelagia!

I thought I tried - maybe I was too impatient.
I am at boat in a few days and will try and keep you posted - hopefully to close out the thread.
I prob could use a usb mouse too but ideally I do touch only.

Appreciate ya!

Re: OpenCPN 5.8.4 Android - Clearing AnchorWatch Marker w Touchscreeen

Hi SV_Pelagia

was at boat yday and tried to deactivated anchor watch with loooong press in center and result is nothing - for the user interface the marker does not exist anymore (remember I disabled the icon in the settings) - so the OpenCPN logic still has the marker as existent and active but the user interface cant access it anymore - the flashing ring around the marker has no user interface relevance other than display.

I also plugged in a usb mouse to have better accuracy with clicking - dragging - double clicking - right clicking - long clicking - but to no avail.

So my assessment is that OpenCPN user interface allows for that rare condition and cant be corrected anymore.

Reminds me I didnt recreate another anchor watch marker to see if long press would allow to deactivate. have to do next time :-)

Anyways - with nano editor how do I get rid of that ghost marker from a config file I presume?

thanks for bearing with me and my problem!

Unicorn..
And nothing in Route & Marks manager? There it's easier to handle marks.
Marks are stored in ../Android/Data/org.opencpn.opencpn/files/navobj.xml

Great input thanks - will run with it and report back as soon as I get back - no I don't recall running into Route manager but you are right should be somewhere - think it has a dedicated touch icon on top.
ALso thx for path to file that stores it as a backup plan.

keep you posted
thx again sv_pelagia!!

Re: OpenCPN 5.8.4 Android - Clearing AnchorWatch Marker w Touchscreeen

Hi so did some playing around - so if the boat is centered on screen and you drop a mark first off the mmsi AIS for own boat gets in the way unless drop mark and boat are apart - then you only touch the screen on mark and immediately the preferences popup centers on screen on top of boat mark whatever and cant be moved - so you have to move the chart so mark is outside of preferences popup and then you can long press context menu for deleting or setting anchor watch - anyways problem solved and big thanks for help!!

think I stick with watchdog anchor alarm - its nice though to see where you are at within the circle.

thx!!!!!
