OpenCPN & MBTiles - can't get it working

Hi,

Reasonably new so hopefully this makes sense.

Was using version 5.6.xx and MBTiles for satellite overlays and S93 ENC of New Zealand and south pacific. All worked well. MBtiles and S93 were being shown together and switching MBtiles on and off with red x down the bottom.

Have upgraded to 5.8.4 and doesn't work properly. Same MBtiles, same S93, same settings on computer.

Now when OpenCPN is started the S93 charts show and when zoom in on area of interest see the red out line of the corresponding MBTile but when "turn on" the MBtile by clicking on the purple rectangle to make the red x disappear. The MBtile satellite image appears but the S93 chart disappears and only have the base chart that OpenCPN comes with. Only way to get S93 chart back is re-start and can't have S93 and MBtile visible at same time.

HAve tried this on my MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, and windows 11 machine, same with all.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Sorry, what are "S93" charts? Maybe "S63"? Or "cm93"?

Guessing you mean CM93 and mbtiles? If so...

Works fine on both my W10 and W11 computers with widely different graphics card setups. See attached screen shot. Are you sure you don't have Chart Groups set up and turned on? Most people with "what happened to my charts" problems turn out to be Chart Group related.

You can inadvertently turn on a chart group by hitting a number key, and not even know it. Though it shouldn't happen if

Right click on desktop (or whatever the Mac equivalent is) and make sure Chart Groups are set to All. (if no Chart Groups on the pop up menu, then you don't have any defined, and then that's not the issue.

Sorry meant S63. I have the official New Zealand ENC S63 encrypted charts.

please I need your support
I'm not able to see, togheter as per your screenshot, the CM93 and MBtiles charts; It could be that Chart Group set-up is wrong; how can I undestand that the Chart Group is ON ? I see on the bottow section the paths corrects but I do not understand if they are active or not

The short cut key "0" will show all charts. "1" group 1, etc.

Thanks BCN but unfortunatelly it doesn't work; with short cut key it changes the groups but I'm not able to see CM93 togheter with MBTILES; it shoudl be another setting issues

You have to select the first option under the menu Vision

I've the italian language version; it is the second menu, from the left (it could be something like "view")

You are talking about the Display menu, the "Hamburger" down right? And "Quilting" was disabled?

Menù bar ==> View ==> Enable Chart Quilting

The "Q" key short cut does toggle quilting as well.

You can see if you are in single chart mode or quilted on the chart bar at the bottom: sharp edges of the rectangles = single chart mode. Rounded = quilted
