OpenCPN Android - Loading CM93 Charts

This is my first post to this group, Thank you.

I understand that CM93 is divided into directories covering 40x40degree areas and 6 other files above these directories.

I found the sub directory for my region and copied these to the android device. Nothing displays.

? Is it nessessary to copy the 6 files to the directory holding the charts of my area of interest?

? What is the purpose of the 6 files?

I loaded the charts using a PC usb connection and after tried viewing the charts on the android file manager but it is not posible but the OpenCPN seems to find and point to them.

The problem is they do not show on the OCPN display.

After posting several similar posts were listed. One refers to encryption so I will copy the 6 files as one must include critical data to displaying the chart sub set.

Thank you. I will update you on how it works after loading the 6 files. Yesterday was a play day and today as well. Hope to try it again in a few days.

Success after some trying.

I copied the extra files to the Android and migrated the directory again. No success.

Possibly that I copied the incorrect chart area and could not view because i looked in the wrong geographic area.

So I copied over the entire CM93 and reeated the steps. Everything works although somewhat slow.

So tje extra files are required and I will continue to try to find charts for my location in the full CM93 structure directory.

What location did you copy the cm93 files to?
SDCard is not recommended...

Dave. Thank you for your reply. I loaded via a USB cable to PC and Copy/Paste. The directory appears in the PC file hiearchy and in the Android OpenCN chart pointing emulation but not in the Android File Manager hiearchy.

The exact sequence of operations proceeds with the full CM93 as in the partial directory after installing the extra files in the top of the directory so seems I may have chosen the wrong region.!

Dave. I have my CM93 files in aa single directory. For the first attempt I copied part of the full CD93 set to a new directory and copied this to the Android ..phone/documents directory

I think this was your question. No SD card involved.

Update. Used OCPN on Android yesterday for first time on passage from Marie Galant, Guadaloupe to Martinique windward side of Dominica. Worked well as a check to our paper chart plotting!!! See attachment.
