Re: OpenCPN Beta 5.5.1114 (RC-2) Released

Aedan..
No charts and no plugin activated so that's not the problem.
The only strangeness I can see is Windows is gonging in to and resume from suspend mode.
Historically I've found suspend mode and OCPN are not always conforming. Since it's mentioned in the log file O tries to adept but I don't know how.
For a confirmation/test please switch the suspend mode off at least while on power.

I've done that and restarted OpenCpn, I'll let you know what happens.

By the way, not only no charts and no plugins but also no data connections either.

re: oeSENC 4.3.2 checksum error....

Corrected now in master catalog. Please reload the catalog, and it should install correctly.

Sorry for the glitch

No worries. oeSENC 4.3.2 does install now and works perfect. Activating OpenGL gives the same nice appearance of TopMarks. So, this bug seems to be fixed as well.

Thanks,

Manfred

With suspension/sleep disabled the problem still occurs after a few hours. I started a session at 12:30 and went away for a while, when I came back at 17:00 it had failed. The log file is attached.

Many thanks for all your suggestions and help,

Aedan

Re: OpenCPN Beta 5.5.1114 (RC-2) Released

Hi Dave

I'm putting this post just to thank and show the solution putting a measure units box to be chosen in the properties, providing the option to select which unit can be used for each old waypoint that was imported with different measure unit, or even the latest marks, different from the user's default setting, it was clearly a great solution because it resolves any conflicting data between new or old waypoints imported or in use.

Even though I have no answer in the previous post, but it was clear that you considered and implemented the solution of this old problem, and I thank you for that and I congratulate you for the great option chosen.

Fair winds, smooth seas and blue horizons

Re: OpenCPN Beta 5.5.1114 (RC-2) Released

Annoying UI bugs. Not what one would class critical therefore not show stoppers.

1. Not sure if it is related to the presence of other plugins that install toolbar icons (engine dashboard, ship driver etc.). If the user displays the dashboard plugin and then closes it using the "x" button on the dashboard frame, rather than from the toolbar button, it does not toggle the toolbar button icon correctly.

2. At least on my Windows 10 laptop, if OpenCPN is not fully scaled, the status bar does not fully display the longitude (missing some of minutes/seconds digits and the East/West indication).
