Hi Dave

I can't build last git with vs2010

nan( .. ) seems not supported by this compiler.

Ok, it should work with conforming compilers.

Can you do a favor for me an try this in place of nan("");?

std::nan("");

I am trying to get the warnings out and this is a standard C++ way of defining a silent NaN. The 0/0 trick of old days is no longer considered standard so conforming compilers complain about it.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

JP...
So there are more than me using VS2010 and XP, nice!
nan("") is not supported in VS2010 math.h, although VS2013 math.h has "nan" included.

Dan..
I tried to change nan("") to std::nan("") -- No success:
"Error: namespace "std" has no memeber "nan".

All in WMM > MagneticPlotMap.cpp rows: 176 & 193

Håkan,

Thank you for the check. I pushed a commit to my git (https://github.com/transmitterdan/Op...582892c1bbc240). You may use that and tell me if it works for VS2010 or not.

I think most have moved to VS2013. It is much more friendly to open source projects. It has integrated support for GIT as well as fully supported under Windows 10. Most of us with "real jobs" cannot use XP anymore. IT departments have mandated that it not be used owing to lack of support from M$FT. The risk of vulnerabilities inside XP is too great in today's world.

Thanks,
Dan

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

I made a new PR. This should work on VS2010 and VS2013.

Yes, I know and use VS13 as well. My old XP machine is still alive though but it may be I soon let it be my Linux tool instead. But since O is still supported on XP I think it's valuable that some of us tester also evaluates betas on it.

I've tested your patch in both VS10 and VS13 -- works fine. Await your merged request.

Thanks
Håkan

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1022 Release

Thanks for testing. My old VS10 build system has not worked in a few months.

I agree we should still support VS10 until the last possible moment.

Rick..
No, 4.0 and wxW 2.8 is out for me. All my system are on wxW 3.0 and last beta. Not less since BR24Radar_pi now depends on 4.1....
