Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

So using the optimized test is actually an improvement here? The results really should always be identical, only the optimized test is much faster normally.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Dave,

With "#if 0" the gray region replaces the C scale chart from time to time. So, it behaves the same as described in my previous post.

Paul...

Please try latest github master now. I fixed this, I think.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Dave,

Using the VDR file I can still see some "grey" squares occasionally.

Thanks for the response.

Well, the navigation computer is not currently connected to the Internet, so I have no development environment, but I'll try and pull it down and set it up.

Dave..
For me on the Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 this is good. Now I couldn't force any gray spots to show up.
I'll take a ride to my boat and the navigational PC, with Intel 965, for a final test but I expect no differences in this matter.

Thanks
Håkan

Here one ( git 0657074 'Correct LLRegion clip logic for self-intersecting region contours.' ):

without VDR, on a slow linux box with open gl, accelerated panning, cm93 2012, display level 5, two symptoms while panning quickly:
1) grey rectangles are displayed for 1 second.
2) cf picture, once it's there it's forever you can exit and restart OCPN and get the same result.
In both cases there's 'Self Intersecting' printed.

Other bugs
Wih a viewport > 180 Line around Africa is Ok but is now missing around Alaska !

with head up:
- accelerated panning doesn't work, ok without it, cf second picture.
- the logic for text (s52plib::RenderT_All) and raster symbols bounding box is broken, it's using the unrotated reference and corrupt the box .
eg:
rotate the screen, zoom in/out , menu 'object query...' returns a wrong list.
I'm no sure but it may also render a chart with missing objects, I've seen one.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Win XP crash report sent today.
Latest Git build VS2013 crash directly on XP. But now VS2010 build also crashed after a while.
The crash seemed to be initiated when UDP data was received. (Just a trace not fully verified)
Trace??: The used memory build up is apparent also here. (comp. post http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ml#post1966789)

I built it and tried it, and it looked good at various scales near the scale where it had been failing: 43800 (0.50x). Then, I zoomed out, and the gray area replaced the C-scale chart as shown below.

O crashed just after I captured the screen. The crashreport folder only contains a partial screen image, below.

I hope with latest changes it's more or less fixed now

you are right.

I see, when zoomed out to worldly views the accelerated panning isn't right for rotated viewports. I will investigate, some calculation here is off.

So the vector chart text is broken when rotated... this maybe is a long standing bug?
