Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

P_Dub... Are you using the "official" 4.1.1108 Beta? You should be able to delete the unwanted groups. Or maybe we don't understand the problem well. More information, please. Thanks Dave

Sorry but no results, the groups are still there. What amaze me is the fact that I did not make groups.
Bye

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Lenovo U41, W 8.1. O 4.0.

A possible bug with SQuid.io plugin.
Download and install the plugin: Ok
Downloading data SQuid.io, Ok area in Brittany (France)
Right click.
Command "Hide SQuid.io data"
So OpenCPN stopped and was closed. No message about a possible crash.

O revived.
Right click
Command "Show SQuid.io data" Ok.
Command "Hide Squid.io data" Ok.

Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Pdub, if you felt comfortable you could edit the opencpn.ini and delete the chart groups, first saving the file as a backup, of course ... opencpn-backup.ini

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

All done. But why do we end up with ( all available charts ) and ( a chart groups Windows )? That was not the case with previous version. Or is there a way to remove this!
Regards.

@did-g...

Re:

Have you identified a particular method in the downloader PlugIn that seems slow?

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Pdub, There is a standard group that includes all charts. You cannot edit it. Create a new chart group. Leace it empty. Then create another and add some chart dir that you use normally. The first standard chart group may be slow if you have lots of charts. I do not put all charts that I have in the main chart directory. I have a directory of charts I am unlikely to use for a long time. It depends on your computer and # of charts what you have to do.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Windows, recent GitHub.
CPA calculation is sometimes not taking the option "No CPA calculation if target range is greater then...." in consideration.
I've have the option set to 20 NM, see picture, but I have several ships where the CPA is calculated far longer, up to 80-100 NM in ~500 min. and the range form my boat is >150 NM.
OK - this is a simulation never to be real. No AIS can reach that far but it's anyhow something strange. And the discussion about the AIS target scaling can of course be disturbed by this.

PDub - I have Chart Groups = All Charts, Empty, Enc, Rnc, CG01Enc, CG01Rnc, etc but no Windows. Try just deleting it.

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Håkan,
Good point about CPA. I wonder if we can find something about TCPA which is also not working well with Dirk's slider in his test version of TargetScale. I looked at the 3 git files added to RooieDirk repos to create the sliders and it looks pretty straightforward to me, but what do I know. I doubt he mixed up parameters, somehow, but maybe. It would be nice to get TargetScale working in 4.2, but Dirk hasn't responded yet to dbcat or us for several days. He may be out, because normally he would.

Maybe what you found about AIS, CPA in the main repos will also fix TCPA in RooieDirk's?

Re: OpenCPN Beta test 4.1.1108 Release

Chartdownloader
Yesterday I updated all of my charts with the current ChartDownloader. It took a long time and a good steady process while doing other things, so it works in the background nicely on Windows 10. It was a good positive test for me. Thank you. very nice plugin Pavel and TDan.
