The way things are, I would not recommend anyone, except perhaps a seasoned beta tester , to use this or, even the next beta, for actual navigation.
Or ... have I totally misunderstood you?

I am under the impression that a stable release is coming soon...and I was concerned with the 'low priority' in Dave's post, fearing that the problem may not be fixed in the next stable release...
As I wrote "[if] the tidal data [was] known to be incorrect in a stable release", I think we totally agree.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

Ahoy Tidal Opencpn-ers....

Thanks for spotting the tide bug at the turn of the year. Turned out to be two problems, both of which would have fixed themselves magically on 1 Jan, 2013. The issue related to looking ahead into the next year from this year, if you follow.

Anyway, understood and in place for the next Beta, which will be this week for sure.

Thanks again
Dave

...

Which reminds me:

Any late i18n translations sent in the next day or so can be included in this week's Beta. Bring them forward if you have them

OpeCPN 3.1.1105 Crashes frequently with Windows 7, 64 bits.
What could cause this?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1105 Released

As for the tide is concern, it turn out that the tide shown for 1st january 2013 are actually the ones for 2nd january 2014. Hope this will help you.

Have you tried with or without OpenGL activated?
If this has an impact on the crashing I would update my video card drivers to see if that helps.
It runs nicely on two laptops and two stationary computers here (all running 64bit english Win7).

It seems to crashes only with openGL on. I uncheck the box to see.
