Hoy,
the beta section of the download page is updated for Win/Mac/Ubuntu and the packages in the testing PPA are baking (amd64 builds should be ready very soon, i386 in a couple of hours)

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.2.1 Released

My feedback.

#10) Heading seems to be stable and correct now while at anchor. Boat always faces heading correctly.

#12) Tested DSC position report (near equator), and all worked as expected.

#18) I think this was the issue caused from the Seatalk-NMEA converter with bad sentences. All seems to be OK with 3.2.1. Been running 1+ hours with no crashes.

Thanks, and well done.

WinXP - report
Run uninterrupted for a couple of days now and nothing to report. I had some crashes with 3.2.0 as reported in http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ml#post1218795 but nothing so far by 3.2.1

Route/Waypoint Upload to Furuno GP-32

The upload of routes and waypoints to my Furuno GP-32 works OK except that the name of the route is not uploaded.

All waypoints appear correctly.

A route appears with all of the relevant waypoints but the CMNT: line is blank and must be entered manually.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.2.1 Released

2 crashes in 6 hours
3.2.1 on ubuntu 12.04 64 bit updated using ppa.launchpad.net/nohal/opencpn/ubuntu
Both times full computer lock up, only way out was using power off button.
So no results from DDD to post

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.2.1 Released

The download page does not show the Windows version being applicable to Windows 8.

Is this a typo?

redog...

Thanks for the report.
Do you think this crash scenario is new for 3.2.1, as distinct from 3.2.0?

Any other information available?

Thanks

Have you downloaded the correct package for 12.04 Precise ?

https://launchpad.net/~nohal/+archiv...ise1_amd64.deb

Please publish your opencpn.log.

Also, try to start O from the command line, and report the output.
Keep the command line open until crash, so you get all messages.

I had mixed results with 3.2.0
Some crashes that left ubuntu still operational.
Some complete lock ups.

3.2.1 gave 2 total lock ups

Sorry I can't form an opinion on that data.

But I will keep trying

Thomas has a reply after yours I will try, but will be limited to starting computer in my room early in the morning and finding the result 13hrs later when I return.

To answer Thomas
I put the nohal's ppa into the update manager and let it update automatically.

Sorry but that is all I can offer till 11.05.13

I'm on 12.10 64 bits. I have never had your problems. Not even when testing Nohals PPA.
What return do you get from this command?
Quote:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list | grep opencpn
Also, what other programs were running at the time of the crashes?
Any crashes when running without OpenCPN?
Have you noticed any hardware problems.

Are you sure about that? How long did you wait, before giving up?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.2.1 Released

skipper@asus:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list | grep opencpn
skipper@asus:~$

Thomas
Nothing appears to happen when I use your requested command
I have no other programs running
only terminal to start O
and in the case of Dave's request DDD to start O

I have not encountered any other problems, that is not to say they don't exist.
I have tried to to keep this install on this computer as standard as possible, that is to say all available updates have been allowed.

As to the time frame for computer lock up "Hours after"
All the time no mouse / keyboard action
