Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1824 Released

Jean Paul...
OpenGL or not? On which hardware? Screenshot? If it persists after OpenCPN is exited, seems like a graphics driver problem...

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1824 Released

how strange CPN works on Windows 8.1
after some revisions in the source functions, CPN at the start off with an error. Windows 7 is loaded everything is fine.
After a rollback of all edits - CPN also off with an error.
only helps to build from scratch

Baikal...
Some more info about your scenario, please. I don't see any problem at all with the official packages we distribute for both 3.2.2 and 3.3.1824.

Thanks

Thanks, Sean.

That fixed the toolbar issue on my build. Thanks, Andrew

It looks like the yellow flag needs some adjustment to fit properly.
OGL on, but makes no difference.

just simply made changes to the
statwin.cpp
m_rows = 0;

that would remove the status bar charts
on Win 7 works fine
Win 8 on when the program starts off with an error

baikal...
Which error, please? I don't see what this change (I suppose you refer to line 79) should fix, sorry.

I don't have any Garmin device but some people claims about Garmin features. Regarding the source I see several logic errors and dead store of variables. See attached pictures.

Baikal...
But we still haven't seen what does not work for you... I was testing the official build with both Win7 and 8.1 and there is no apparent problem with them, so I really need to see what you are actually fixing with this change.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.1824 Released

After a new live test of 1824 (git updated July 08 2014 ) I had the reproduction of the crash described in#90 - A black screen with only the tool bar, the status bar and the console displayed and no other choice than exit ( and off course as a result the lost of the current track !) and no proposal to send a crash dump -
To give me better chance to do not lost my tracks, I have decided to close and reopen O to save tracks at interval times.
To day, I did it the first time after 2 hours, the second after 3 hours, the third after 1.5 hours and I had no crash. The fourth time, I got the crash after 2 hours.
About half an hour before the crash, I set "Show target track" on and "Enable touch screen" on
After the crash, I set these two parameters off and had a 2,5 hours navigation without any problem.
The crew member who saw the cash said it happened while clicking on an AIS target
I would not conclude two quickly, but it seems that these crashes could be related to the touch screen mode, but more certainly to the target tracks display function.

Here you can find attached the crash session log. I did not took screen shot as it would have been exactly the same as in #90

We discussed the solution to make opencpn save the tracks periodically as even without the bugs, the computer can reset unexpectedly for various reasons.

Also, I wanted to note I pushed a few changes to fix a typo with the latest grib changes. It affects overlay maps for wave height and possibly cloud cover.
