Anyone NOT seeing overzoom indicator with other than S63 charts?

I have not displayed overzoom on conventional ENC S-57

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2107 Released

Trying to install the latest beta on Linux (Navagatrix .5).

Following the instructions on the download page:
"
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nohal/opencpn
Each time a new update is available, usethe following to install the update:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install opencpn
"

result:
"
OpenCpn is already the newest version
"

I installed the previous beta version using a package, just downloaded it and ignored warnings from the package manager.

?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2107 Released

Dave,

had a look at Baikal's video and there are some chart names visible.

48316000.000
48616001.000
48516003.000 (used for Overzoom)
48517004.000
482BAB01.000

He mentions:
Quote:
charts Baikal as well as all the other charts Russian inland waterways are not publicly available for end-user products are only available in Jeppesen Marine.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2107 Released

Nahanni...
It is obvious. Your version of Navigatrix is based on Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring), which is past it's end of life, not supported anymore by Canonical, so we can't build packages for it on Launchpad and the latest available is 3.3.1303.

Solution should be: Edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/nohal-opencpn-raring.list (will have to do it as root, I just guess the filename, but should sure start with "nohal-opencpn")
and change the two lines that should look like
Code:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/nohal/opencpn/ubuntu raring main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/nohal/opencpn/ubuntu raring main
to
Code:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/nohal/opencpn/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/nohal/opencpn/ubuntu precise main
Then the normal sudo apt-get update etc. should do.

The big question is why the Navigatrix guys based their release on a non-LTS Ubuntu base. IMHO it is at least unfortunate...

I dunno. Never seen this.

Is this seen immediately on connecting to TCP network feed, or does it take a while to develop?

Thanks

Dave

Checking again. I had 6 empty lines fairly evenly sprinkled among almost 1800 targets. Up time about 2.5 hours.
Closing down and restarting, I see no empty lines after ~15 minutes/1700 targets.
So it seems to have something to do with time. Some targets sending funny signals? What about Base Stations? Just a gut-feeling....
