Was recording 1st time, for some seconds only, but...
17559 data-lines, 1.59 MB

Boat: LEONORA CHRISTINA; MMSI 219282000; CALL OWGM2

Searched with Notepad++ - no findings, transmission cycle of boat was more than 60 sec.
Will try a longer run and select data
Receife TCP 80.78.213.46:6492

Got it,
1st capture shows the ferry with the dinghy in trail.
I have to care to get the captured file small for posting.
The Skandinavian TCP transmission seems to be a processed and not an original AIS-signal.
In Ystadt repetition was very long, was marked as lost signal and cancelled before mooring, together with the small triangel.
To do:
a compress the file
b compare speed-ferries in San F Bay

Played also a bit with the stream. found a few highspeed craft near Gothenborg with same problem.
OpenGl or not does not make a difference.

Also noticed that:
On showing AIS names, OpenGL does not acknowledge font color settings. The name is always printed in black. Font size, style etc are working.

Captured speed-ferry in ROENNE.
Waited till symbol get green, nearly at the end. At this time symbol changed to speed-vessel and the small triangl showed at the SE-edge of the town. Remember it may go to SE-Asia.
Note: In the data stream is a signal simulating own boat. My GPS was off.

Next I look to SF.

Thanks to Gnomon, the errant high-speed dinghy painter has been shortened up.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2118 Released

changing line 1207 in ais.cpp from
Code:
dc.StrokePolygon( 3, arrow, TargetPoint.x, TargetPoint.y );
to
Code:
dc.StrokePolygon( 3, arrow );
seems to solve this issue.

Dave
you are welcom.
This CE-Afternoon I found in SF-bay only yellow-speed-boats. I stop the action.

If you start with a vector-chart and zoom in, O will not auto switch to a large scale merc rasterchart. This is described in the documentation. See Chart Quilting | Official OpenCPN Homepage
No bug here.

It's not a big deal, just an example of a situation where you want to zoom in to see some detail that is not actually part of the chart you are currently using.

Thanks,
JM.
Dave,
see the attached screenshots please.
Overzoom for cm93 is defined in file cm93.cpp:
double cm93compchart::GetNormalScaleMin

Overzoom factor is currently (sources as of today) set to 10 (current_overzoom.gif), whereas it used to be 40 in the past with 3.3.1606 (1606_overzoom.gif).
If you change oz_factor = 10 to oz_factor = 40 everything is as it used to be.

I'm using this extreme overzoom as well, simply when sitting outside on the tiller and looking downstairs into the boat on the laptop. As it is right now, I need a binocular ...

Can you reset the oz_factor to 40 please ?

Thanks,

Thomas

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2118 Released

Furuno GPS upload has an issue.

For reasons that I can't figure out, the Furuno upload is no longer allowing more than 10 waypoints to be uploaded.

I installed 2118 as an upgrade and then started testing and the test route I had that was working on 2107 will not upload. Any route less with 10 waypoints or less, uploads fine.

I've looked at the NMEA data being sent and I don't see anything that explains why it fails. The first GPRTE sentence has 6 waypoints and if the second has 4 or less, it works. Once there is a 5th waypoint in the second sentence, it fails. I can successfully upload routes with 5 waypoints where there is only 1 GPRTE sentence.

There is one thing I think might have something to do with this but I'm not sure if it is the cause. There are 3 characters of data at the end of each GPRTE statement. The first is always an "*" and the next is always a "3" but the 3rd digit changes. It seems to always have a value of 1-9 and sometimes A-D. These 3 digits have always been there but I do not know why they are there. The documentation for the Furuno documentation for the GP-31 upload does not indicate these characters are required. It seems the upload works fine if the value is "*32" but is failing if the value becomes "*3D" in any of the GPRTE sentences.

The documentation shows that up to 8 waypoint names can be listed in a GPRTE sentence and then ended with<cr><lf>. Can you tell me what those characters represent and why they are included?

I tried doing a downgrade to 2107 and also a separate install of 2107, but the route that was working in 2107 is no longer working. If you can tell me how I can completely remove OpenCPN and then do a clean install of 2107 without loosing all my settings, I'll try and test again with 2107 to see if I can find what is different.

Right clicking on the route and sending to the GPS is also no longer working. The data being sent that is shown on the NMEA window when right clicking on the route is identical to what is shown when sending 2 the GPS through the route manager, but only the route manager upload I s working.
