Not loading duplicates would be the best, I think.
Would this actually break groups with duplicates?
The fact should be logged. Thomas
I load Region 02, LI (long island) (I created smaller special group) and then sometimes I load Region 03 both ENC and RNC.
Then I create Chart Groups for ENC and RNC adding Region 02 and LI for the respective.

I have realized that I may have some duplicates showing in Chart Groups, but that has not really bothered me. If there is some way of eliminating duplicates in chart groups that is not slow, that would be fine with me.

However I intentionally may have duplicates in the "Loaded Charts" area because I may be switching a Chart Group to more extensive coverage by adding say Region 01 and Region 03 and taking out the LI group that I made.

So if you can eliminate by magic duplicated charts in Chart Groups (without erasing them because we may be using them later in another Chart Group config) fine. But complicated issue... what do we mean by "eliminate"

Another specific test request: Considering fonts... We want to determine if users upgrading from a font-customized installation of OCPN 3.2.x will experience font difficulties on upgrade to OCPN 4.0

1. Delete your opencpn.ini file.
2. Install and run OCPN 3.2.x, if you still have it.
3. Adjust the fonts to some useful, recognizable size/face.
4. Close OCPN 3.2.x 5. Start OCPN 3.3.2330.
6. Examine the fonts.
Question: Are they too big/small/odd?
Win7 OS, Normally don't change fonts or size. Did 1 & 2
In order to bring up O3.2.2 I had to delete opencpn.ini, navobj.xml and the chart cache in order to be able to bring up O3.2.2
First I adjusted the fonts too much including size and font for the 3 selections. Closed O3.2.2 and could not start it again. Deleted opencpn.ini again. Then changed just the font size on each 3 selections. Closed and opened O3.3.2330. The Beta version looked fine and operated fine. I had just increased font size to 8 from 7.

At this point, I don't know how Windows users would change fonts much in O3.2.2 successfully, but perhaps I was not doing something correctly. This is not an area that I have messed with much.

Now I am thinking I should changed the O3.3.2330 fonts more to see if they work. ---Later, yes they seem to work fine, fonts and sizes, but did not push the testing to great extremes with wild fonts and sizes.

The fonts sizes generally are good. Sometime, I may enlarge them so that I don't need glasses, when I move to using a 10' display and small computer on the boat. ... so far I've been using Opencpn on a laptop.

It works fine for me on linux and XP. If I manually change it from UTM to MERCATOR, there is a slight difference, I think. But nothing skewed like your picture in any case. I also get a georef inaccuracy warning in the log.

Does this effect happen on very many charts? Any pattern you can see?

Thanks
Dave
Oh boy. Now All of them are askew counterclockwise...yes a similar message is appearing in the log:

It appears as O loads em I think. Maybe it's an old plugin. I see some crying about the magnetic plugin wmmcof" so I shut it down but I guess there's more to do to check "User Error!"

I started OpenGl and purged the cache, then turned open Gl Off again.
Double checked skew setting magnetic display etc.

I will disable the ini file and start a new one next.

And that fixed it. Just loaded kaps,no cm93 yet so I'll begin to mix things back in and maybe find what was wrong.

Thomas is right again.Pixel Error arises for many (or all) kap headers simply modified from UTM,TM, and Polyconic to "Mercator". (EZ is Sleazy)
Still, I don't expect this to be cause of my tilt. Still working on that...

FONT TESTS OK on XP for me

They came up just the same.

I have run this test on XP, no problems. But YMMV, since each system generally has a different font set available. Windows' idea of default seems occasionally random.

Report results here, with pix.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2330 Released

Chart print out, two issues:
OCPN ver.3.3.2330. WinXP. 1680x1050. Print to PDFCreator.
1.
The message box "Wait while printing" is also printed
2.
In "Normal" screen mode the print is shewed and only grew tones.
In "full screen" F11 mode the print out is correct

Printed docs are available in Flyspray note : FS#1607 : Chart Print out bug

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2330 Released

Following my earlier post, I did a second day of trials on .2330. This time the 'Navigate to here' option DID appear on the right click menu. Maybe when testing the previous day there was an active route somewhere which was stopping the 'Navigate to Here' option appearing? It worked fine but disappeared once when the yacht's autopilot was in track mode triggering a loss of data alarm. Subsequently it worked fine for the leg back to the marina.

Biggles...

This behaviour is by design.
The option appears only if you are not currently following an active route.

I don't understand the "loss of data alarm".
Please elaborate.

Thanks

Only 2 little leaks only at startup are left now. All others are fixed with latest git commits of today.

Gerhard...

Thanks, yes, those are the leaks next on my list. It will leak a lot more if you zoom around and show a lot of cm93 soundings.

Glad we are now in sync.

I am still puzzling this one.
As mentioned, creating a new ini file "solves" it.
I loaded the (corrupt?) ini file into a fresh installed version 3.3.2330 but no tilt, also 3.314 Portable is ok.
I have deleted all charts, and at various times, nav object files, plugins, and I think, most settings. I have loaded all files from a fresh-installed version(including the background map you see hereAND the opencpn.exe!) and removed any non-default folders UserIcons,UserTCData and so forth into the Problem Portable version.
Bad ini file has been tweaked to mostly default values by comparison, even deleting persistent values from plugins that have been removed.
Just in case Portable version "calls" on the installed version settings, (and I think it did but that's another question) I have renamed the folder.

EDIT. Oops take that back. The ini file corrupts the installed version too.

You are right, this is not normal. The duplicates should have been automatically removed when you added Region 1. I will test this case, and report back.

Dave
Gilletarom is a stupid man.

In #139, I said That:
"I see that some the folder charts 5 still appear in the bar charts. This does not seem normal to me."

There were several folders reported in the loaded charts. In particular folders, as you can see in the screen copy (#139):
- "D: / Mapping / Raster_USA"
- "D: / Mapping / Raster_USA / Zone_1_Atlantique_Est_Nord / BSB-root"

The first path contained the record of the Florida area, but also the record of the zone 5 and zone 1.

Therefore, it was natural that the charts of zone 5 still appear in the bar charts.

So, needless to investigate. Remove it from your "todo".

I apologize for this aberrant alert.

Best regards. Gilletarom

Happy Seagull...

I guess I'd like to look at this toxic .ini file.

Can you attach it here?

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.3.2330 Released

Ok. No charts installed. If you try it,I wonder if you will see there is no grid on screen, even though it is enabled. That's what's going on now. If I install charts, they are tilted.
