libaisradar_win32_pi18_v092_pi.dll is just plain broken. Please remove this PlugIn if you have it installed, and upgrade to the newest version available online. I never want to see it again

I have deleted "aisradar_win32_pi19_v092_pi.dll" from the Opencpn Beta File Thing, and from my computer. I have not found it crashing to my knowledge.

The file on Opencpn.org Plugin downloads is "libaisradar_win32_pi17_v096_pi.dll"
Is it the most current?

Additionally, I apologize for sending the weather_routing crashes. I was testing previously untested areas of the plugin related to saving in importing polar files (xml and csv) in order to understand what Sean had done, and to determine exactly what affected what (VPP created with boat specs VS a boat polar file). The plugin is quite ambitious (not a criticism) and this area needs some work and clarification. I will not send these reports anymore. Is there any useful information we can glean from the error reports for Weather_Routing so it can be fixed?

Weather_routing:
No apologies necessary, that is why we test and capture crash dumps. There is always information to be obtained.

We could learn more from the PlugIn crashes if we had .PDB files for the release version of the PlugIn, as created by the builder/uploader. The PDB file can be found in the Windows Vs2010 source tree for the PlugIn, something like "weather_routing.pdb". Note that the pdb file must be the exact one that was created when the final uploaded PlugIn was built. There is checksum matching code, so the dll and pdb must be exact matches to enable source debugging of the PlugIn.

Thanks Dave. I am familiar with the pdb files. ...opencpn-git/build/plugins/[plugin-name]/debug What should I do with the file? Upload to Tracker when we report a bug? Change name and post on Forum? Email to you?

I will reduce # of plugins in my debug setup.

Re Tracker, Serge has been emailing old tasks to authors asking them to review. This has been very successful and we may start doing that with feature requests. We'd like to get feature requests down to a manageable list of items that have a strong number of votes by users.

We will need the Release version of the PDB, viz.

opencpn-git/build/plugins/[plugin-name]/Release/[].pdb

This could be made part of the git repository, and depend on the developer to keep it in sync with the downloadable PlugIn. Just another thing for the developer to do when making a release.

For PlugIns that are not on git, I suppose we will need to upload them to the opencpn.org download page. They are quite big, too big to post here as an attachment, I think....

I am registered with git for a free account, have made comments in git to Sean's repository, and have made a repo of weather_routing. I have not pushed any changes or uploaded any files without using git....need to learn.

Will Pavel make a central git directory for us to upload the PDB files? Or should these be uploaded to some git directory associated with the plugin? -For example I compile windows for Sean, but I don't have access to his git. Maybe use sourceforge like Pavel uses for plugins sometimes. I don't know... anyway I am sure we can get this additional troubleshoot technique working somehow.

Hello Dave,

I use OCPN 3.3.814 for several weeks. I had no crash. But I used to OCPN minima, ie with little plugin. Just VDR plus plugins provided with NMSOs.

By cons I encountered a problem of translation. This relates to the route manager and tracks manager

For route :, "Nightime", "Twilight" and "Daytime" are not included in the pot file. They are therefore not translated.

For track:

The items "Advance", "From", "Display Parameters", "Statistics", "Time Enroute", "Width", "Print", "Split", "Extend", "Road To" and "Export" does not appear in the pot file. They are therefore not translated.

The item "With :" file is in the pot, but the item "Width" is not in the pot file. So it is no translate.

1° Tracks manager :
I forgot the item "Recorded points" and "Timestamp". They are not in the pot file.

2° When the properties window track is open, it appears above all other open windows. For example, if you make a screenshot when the file manager is open, the window manager tracks remains above. It is unpleasant.

Something weird in version 3.3.814 and in the previous beta version. There is a nmea data stream, however the boat does not have a fix (does not color red, stays dark) and the speedometer does not show its indicator. I'm running O on a laptop with Windows 7 professional SP1.

Did a downgrade by installing v3.2.2. Exactly the same behaviour. The install.log shows an error:

The NMEA strings you have shown are from NMEA Version 4.0.
The slash delimiters are the key signature (e.g. \s:MX54-1*41\).

OpenCPN Version 3.2.x is not compatible with NMEA 4.0.

Thanks Dave. The beta versions show exactly the same behaviour at this moment. The nmea configuration was not been changed over the past time. To make it even more strange, I used a 3.3.xxxx version (two beta version before the 3.3.814) during my two sailing weeks in August. After that period O has not been used aboard nor any changed where madr to the board nmea or instrument configuration. I did check the nmea strings by using PCMavMon, and that shows the info on the dails as expected.

I made a nmea log from pcnavmon:

The nmea log created in my previous post was made using OpenCPN's debugger pllugin.

Regarding the indicator of the speedometer, I switched off all board instruments, so there was no nmea data send to the computer, the indicator did no show ??? Tested in version 3.2.2

Hope you can help to get it back going again.

After spending some time searching the forum, I made a copy of the xml-file holding the tracks, and saved the tidal and and than uninstallend O, removed the left overs and than installed the latest beta version from the O download section. This one was working and did show the indicator from the speedometer and also the ships position.

As soon as I'm back aboard I'll see if the debugger window show the same info and post according. To me those slashes looked like formatting code. Could that be the case?
