Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

The font for the new scalebar is a joke only or what?
I suggest to change it as seen in my version.
And where is the setting item to switch between old and new scalebar?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

Hello Dave,

Sorry to bore you with a little trick .... but, it annoys me this little thing.

You must declare a charts folder. Nothing extraordinary .... "Options / Charts / Folder / then" add "... when you finished this, you have two choices:
- First: you click "Ok". Then, the data base is updated. And the Options closed. This is the more simple. No problem.
- Second: You click "Apply". Then the data base is updated. Then you have to click "Ok". BUT, here is the little trick. The database is updated a second time.

Why? If the data base is updated when "Apply", why again by clicking "Ok" ????

This is true with O4.4 and O4.5.201.

Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

Hello Dave,

Just a question about the "Prepare all ENC" command.

Yesterday I uninstalled all versions of O4.5 and also O4.4. Then, as always, CClenear then I reinstalled O4.4. This morning I installed, in parallel O4.5.201.

Yesterday I had just re-declared the VMH charts that I have in my PC. This morning, I added only the NOAA S57s from region 03.

Then I started "Prepare All ENC". Therefore, only the charts of Region 3 of the USA must be treated. It's very, very slow.

Is it normal that the required duration announced is more than 3 hours for this?

Other question that I add. Now, the estimated time is 6h 59 mm ... Why the estimated time is changing when the folder of charts prepared change ?

Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

S-63 works fine now.

Languages:
no crashes, but still the Menu bar does not change but after a restart of OCPN.
And observe the S-63 message at the bottom:
first changed but when you open Options it falls back to English.

Startup on OSX 10.10.5 is now OK.
On Preference->Display->Units page the text of Mag Variation is garbled. See screendump.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

Presentation of symbol on hi-res screen:

DEll XPS13 (3200x1800px)

The own ship minimal size is set to 6mm. Drawn at 11-12mm.
Has been different before.
We know that OCPN has problems to determine the resolution of this screen correctly.
Perhaps a user setting for manual defining the resolution? Same as horizontal screen width?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

S-63,
zooming in and option of reduced detail at small scales.
Results in very much reduced detail - or none...

Seems the "reduced scale" is not correctly interpreted anymore.

S-57 is ok.

OpenCPN 4.5.201 fails to build from source this morning using VS2013. There is a problem with dashboard-i18n.

Download from opencpn.org and install of opencpn_4.5.201_setup.exe was okay this morning. There was a crash, and I sent the crash report.

Thanks,
Paul

I really don't know why it is needed to make always changes which killed the Mac version of OpenCPN.
There are so many "#ifdefs" in the code. Please use them when changes are done for Raspberry-Pi and the such. But for macOS such changes and the so called optimizations are poison.
Attached is the screenshot of ptulps iMac with 4.5.201 and my MacBookPro with my own version of current beta.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

Dave

ENC thumnbnails works again. I can't see any need for all the magenta "dangers", in thumbnails. They just make it difficult to get an overview.

I can't see any changes in *ENC double arrows in traffic separation areas.

Thanks

There's miss match in: C:/OpenCPN_Clone/OpenCPN/plugins/dashboard_pi/po/ja_JP.po row:437(last)
Some Japanese characters aren't recognized correct. To survive for the moment just copy what's before translation to the translated field and save the file.
Make it look like this:
Code:
msgid "Max %.1f %s since %02d:%02d Overall %.1f %s"
msgstr "Max %.1f %s since %02d:%02d Overall %.1f %s"
BTW:
@ Dashboard dev. Please split out the "%.1f %s" parts from the text to translate. All to avoid confusion for the translator's.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.5.201

Dashboard translation again:
I mean something like this to:
wind_history.cpp row: 575
Code:
wxString sMax = _( "Max" ), sSince = _( "since" ), sOverall = _( "Overall" );
  dc->DrawText(wxString::Format(_("%s %.1f %s %s %02d:%02d  %s %.1f %s"),
sMax, m_MaxWindSpd, m_WindSpeedUnit.c_str(), sSince, hour, min, sOverall, m_TotalMaxWindSpd,
      m_WindSpeedUnit.c_str()), m_LeftLegend + 3 + 2 + degw, m_TopLineHeight - degh + 5);
