VDR plugin with the slider on the left is not "normal speed", it simply means "one message per second", which, with most recorded data, is much slower than the speed at which it was recorded.
Anyway, I will not fix these artificially created situations in any way as I consider them pure operator error. Simply set the dampening period to a value adequate for your playback speed, likely one for the fastest and up to 10 for the slowest, depending on what you are playing back to feed it.

OK like you want. But do not be surprised if the very bad French users take out their machine gun to claim on the ambulance.

So, I repeat, at least put up a tooltip to warn users of this kind of "fake screen"

Warn users about what exactly? What exactly is your problem adjusting the dampening interval to suite your data input? That is what it is for.
I really do not understand what makes you purposedly set it wrong and complain that the behaviour is exactly as expected in such a situation.

Gille, I appreciate your sense of humor... "machine guns" and "fake" screens, (I can think of some other combinations of this, but it would be too political) but don't you think this is overly violent for VDR, which is simply a testing tool for smart players like you and besides that, you gave Pavel a hard time! -I can live with it. 0 speed is 1 second playback, makes the sog/cog go screwy for sure. Gille, just don't watch those "fake" screens!

Hi,

In version "4.8.10109" I saw base map, but in new one NOT.
I have attached requested files (please remove .pdf extension).
How I do that - I have created a "Chart group" with nothing inside and switched to it.

Attached Files
File Type: pdf settingsfile.txt.pdf (24.2 KB, 38 views)
File Type: pdf logfile.txt.pdf (60.9 KB, 57 views)

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10119

The cause of the failure in displaying the ENC maps is found.
Reason in highlight track.
If you turn it off then everything is fine! If you turn on the crash!

Baikal...

Will you post your logfile so that we may inspect your OpenGL configuration?

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 4.8.10119

Dave,

I updated my Ubuntu Linux version by letting the "bdbcat" ppa install itself.

Everything seemed to work fine, until I changed from "Standard" to "All" in the "Options / Charts / Vector charts" page. So, OpenCPN stopped.
I tried to restart it. It started and stopped when displaying nautical charts (oeSENC FR Atl). More exactly when the EULA is displayed, but before that I see the text.

No, about the same.
Especially with ENCs and then the toggle keys like S, L or T
Graphics are quite weak on this platform.

Gilletarom...

This must be a bug in some feature appearing only in "ALL" category.

To get started again, please manually edit the config file:

Current value:
nDisplayCategory=79

Desired value:
nDisplayCategory=83

Then confirm OK startup.

Thanks
Dave

You are right. Now, it run without stop.

Nota bene :
- There is a long long time before the light are extinguished when I use "L".
- And, all is very slow.
- I note also grey area with oeSENC FR Atl and OpenGL OFF.

Is it due to O or to my old netbook under Ubuntu ????
