I will try to install Focal this weekend, perhaps the problem is based on Hirsute instead op Focal.

There must be another error in the setup. Here the tidal information is running on my RPI4 with the Ubuntu Hirtute 64 bits version for the RPI. And also on my AMD64 Hirtute system.

And on my Linux Mint Uma systeem for AMD64.

All running on the Flatpak version with the 5.5.928 beta.

Of course, I have added the EU tidal called "Stromingsgegevens NL Kust en Wadden"
which covers a large part of the EU waters. All with the Tidal graphs.

Route/Waypoint/Track property windows open behind Manager window

In the Route & Mark Manager window, if you select a mark, route or track and click on Properties, that window opens behind the manager window.

You cannot bring it to the front. You have to move it to one side. It gets tedious when examining lots of objects.

On MacOS Big Sur 11.6

Properties of routes and tracks showing USA date format

In the properties window for routes and tracks, the date is shown in the odd USA order MM/DD/YYYY.

IMHO, it should follow the host system setting or, if that is not possible, then International date order YYYY-MM-DD

(I have just tracked down a problem I was having to the topsy-turvy order.) Sorting on USA dates is problematic.

Antipole...
I agree, the date format seems a bit "mixed?, depending upon which properties dialog is displayed.
Can you be more specific on your observations, with some screenshots?

Thanks
Dave

My Route properties seem OK, although I hadn't noticed the (Daytime) before.
The dates conform to my DD Mmm YY format that's my system date format, used to remove day/month ambiguity.

But my Track dates of individual points do indeed seem to be in MM/DD/YYYY format.

Updated Win10.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 5.5.928 Released

Date preferences:
Win10 - Swedish

I see in track properties the same as Antipole also when using Swedish (Svenska) language. "Timestamp" uses the US format and month/date order. The same misunderstanding about date and month applies here.

Looking in the route properties:
When language is Swedish both the "Departure" date and ETA date are correct formatted e.g. 2021-12-01.
When language is English(US) the "Departure" date is due to the local format 2021-12-01 but the ETA date is US format 1/12/2021 although with EU order day/month/year?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 5.5.928 Released

Could someone let me know how to delete a corrupted update that won't install? I'm running ubuntu and I get a package operation failed when I try to update. When I try to delete the file I get the permissions needed error

opencpn_5.5.1015+6591+bfa76a7dc~ubuntu20.04.1

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 5.5.928 Released

I am very sorry for my previous post.

I found that the captured NMEA by NavMonPc file is invalid. There is a number before each line (ex: "$..." is replaced by "10$..."

Every tide station, or any particular one(s)?
Thanks

Dave
I had the same problem with 5.2.4 while navigating at night, I had to find a quick fix.
All tide stations.

Only 1 computer of 2.
Copied tide data from good computer to bad but that didn't fix the problem.

Identical installs on Ubuntu 20.04 stock standard .

Reinstall O with old config same problem.
Reinstall O new config no problems now.

Cheers Dave

Did you happen to save a copy of the old config file, the one that fails?
Or can you reproduce it?

Thanks
Dave

Dave
I am pretty sure this is the one.
Also added the log.
Obvious renaming required.

Cheers Dave

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 5.5.928 Released

Hello Dave,

LAYERS : It is probably a feature conception problem...

I looks like if we save (from an external app) a new GPX file into the ./layers directory, the only way to manage it with OCPN is to restart it.

Is it possible to add a "Rescan" button into the Manage-Layer dialog ?
Or activate the Import button which is disabled.
Or that OCPN automatically rescan the layer directory when the Manage-Layer opens ?

Many thanks for everything you are doing

Pierre
