For those interested in helping to test plugins, the Plugin Manager (PIM or PM) needs to be enabled to use the Beta Catalog. To do this close OpenCPN and and edit your opencpn.ini or opencpn.conf file to add after

CatalogExpert=1

Then start Opencpn 5.7.1 Beta and Options > Plugins > at the bottom pick Settings and select Beta catalog, pick Done. Then update the catalog so you will be using the Beta catalog.

Also please use the OpenCPN 5.7.1 Beta Version with your tests!
Your testing should be primarily for OpenCPN 5.7.1 Beta, but we also need to test the plugins.
Please use this thread to report the following summaries:

What works: Your OS & Hardware and a reasonably comprehensive list of plugins that do work. This is very helpful for us to know and will help move the plugin into the master catalog. It also informs us regarding the extent of plugin beta testing.
What doesn't work: Your OS & Hardware and which plugins do not load properly or have functions that do not work as expected. Try to be brief and make a new thread titled for a specific plugin "Plugin Report:[Plugin name]" with more detail and screenshots.

We are interested in reports from all users who can do this and from different OS. It will help software stability and development. Thank you for your support of OpenCPN.

Win11 O5.7.1 Beta #1 I've opened most of the plugins on the Beta Catalog. There are probably one or two that are causing a safe restart. Most of them open properly and close properly.
Testplugin - Not finding its icons. Has a persistent message whenever PIM is opened. No way to unload it. Is this an issue with OpenCPN Plugins that are failing?
Dashboard, Tactics and Dashboard-Tactics all have problems showing text on my high pixel screen. Text tends to be way too small. I would say this results in unusable plugins.
Dashboard The text size problem is a little better, but there is a huge problem resizing windows, as they are way too large and will not resize vertically.
Statusbar Text is way out of scale horizontally. It is not really useful as it stands. The preferences screen is messed up.
Squiddio Seems to work, but the preferences screen is restricted on the right and unsizeable.
Weatherfax Fortunately the internet retrieval part that I use a lot is working as expected. Don't know about the rest.
Watchdog This popular plugin seems to be very slow and hesitant, without the snappy performance of before. There may be something wrong with it. Yes, there is something wrong with it. OpenCPN and Climatology and Celestial Nav sped up when I closed Watchdog!
Weather_routing works as far as I tested it.
Celestial_Navigation and Climatology seem to be working ok.
AISradar Appears to be working normally.
Autopilot_Route Appears to be working. I built a different version of this found in my branch "sean-work" because Chris found the version I was building was totally wrong. I am hoping that this version is better and would like it if someone would try it out.
Pypilot preferences seems to open but I havent tested past that.
Polar seems to work.
Plots will probably work too.
Findit works too.

Yes, there's a bug. Set it horizontal and then back to vertical.

To All:

What we need first is a list of plugins that are stable and will not affect OpenCPN itself so they can be safely migrated to the Master Catalog.

So testing them on as many platforms as possible and reporting here would be great.

Hi Rick,

I cannot find ocn_draw_pi for Beta 5.7.1 in the Beta Catalogue. Do I use the one in the Master Catalogue?

I am running MacOS.

I just tested with your fix. No error message and weather routing loads. I will test it against some routes later today.

All versions of ocn_draw_pi do not work with Beta 5.7.1
