opencpn Charts

Good Morning, Years ago i used opencpn 4.0.0. while i was navigating around the world. Opencpn was my navigation tool to use. 7 years later we need to do a small crossing in the region of the canarian Islands, spain. I downloaded the new version of opencpn but my Charts (kap. files and CM93 files) are not recognized by this new version of cpn. I guess my charts are outdated. Is there anyone who knows where i can get Kap files for charts of the canarian islands,spain? I would love to use opencpn again.

You are with OpenCPN 5.6.2 then?


There is no reason why your old chart sets shall not show up. Chart outlines activated (the "O" - ooh short cut)? Zoomed in sufficiently?

Are the chart directories listed in Options|Charts|Chart Files?


You can also license the most recent and actual ENCs for the Canaries at o-charts, the chart outlet of OpenCPN for OpenCPN. The Spanish set covers the Canaries.

Don't use outdated maps for navigation. The map of Spain including the Canarian Islands costs only 16.90 €.

Thank you guys works perfectly. One more question. i have a new Apple macbook air.
They do not come with a usb port. (needed for the gps locator).
Has anyone connected a gps locator to a macbook air?
