OpenCPN Forum pruning

The OpenCPN forums are a rich source of information, help and advice.

However, many threads are long and filled with obsolete replies, which makes reading them tedious and off-putting. Unlike FlySpray, there is no way of marking an issue closed so it no longer clutters the thread.

Is there any policy on this?

Is there any way of getting redundant replies pruned?

I guess this requires admin access but might there be a way of granting the necessary permission to the thread owner - typically the thread starter?
For a plugin forum, the plugin author might be the best person.

Thoughts?
