You better off with usb version instead of hat.
hat is for pi only and usb you can use with anything. Plus easy to service.

I see your suggestion, for brevity I don't think we need "Plugins", perhaps "pi" is all that is needed.

Regarding categories: General, Issues, Suggestions, Tests.
What is General used for?

Not sure about creating all new threads, as we lose the capability to search the old thread easily, but we could organize the links and post in conformance.

This is a fair amount of work, but it should be updated.
Pi is for me Raspberry PI which might make some confusions.
General (in my mind) is general discussion, return of experience, impressions, help on usage,..

Re: OpenCPN General

Other question:

When comparing display of buoys from vector charts on Windows computer, their quality is far better than on Raspberry PI for the same vector chart. On Raspberry PI I only have triangles or diamonds where on windows the layouts are at least of the same quality as on official charts.

Did I missed something in my configurations?

On Raspberry : https://postimg.cc/SnxQY4bp
On Windows : https://postimg.cc/N54f0MV4

I personally use a PiCAN-M with CAN-Bus Micro-C and RS422 Connector + 3 A SMPS which is extremely efficient and easy to install.

What I like the most is the fact that my Pi is just connected to the NMEA-2000 which is providing the power for it as well.
Installation is very simple and without issues with Signal-K.

Did not made the test of 5.7.1 as I'm using flatpak package so far.

I have 6 different charts loaded with o-charts. Maybe why I have those 6 errors.
O-Charts are working perfectly.

Re: OpenCPN General

Is the latest version of Open CPN software compatible with the system software Monterey for Mac? I've read somwhere in this forum that some have experienced crashes. Please advise, anyone?

Sorry - newbie here and I've done my very best to search out for this topic before posting it here, however can anyone tell me if OpenCPN has any support for color blindness?

Thanks for any help with this.

Fukalaj. Sorry not to my knowledge. Please explain what you would need or point us to a link that would help.

What computer are you using? MacOS has colour filters built into its Accessibility features and that should help. Adjustment at system level is probably preferable to within OpenCPN.

Color blindness people should not navigate a boat, it is forbidden!
Other than car navigation where the red traffic light is always above and the green light is always below it is not the case in ship navigation.

Carcode..
"...navigate a boat, it is forbidden!"
That's a very strange statement. I've never heard. What and who's legislation do you refer to?

Unless you refer to individual navy rules or as a career as legal captain or similar.
I can navigate my boat wherever I want even if I were color blind.

If you need a driver license to navigate a boat as here in Germany e.g. for any boat with engines more than 15 horse-power you will not get a driver license when color blind.

Re: OpenCPN General

plugins all end in "_pi". Sometimes for sorting reasons I put the pi in front.
Normally when I am referring to raspberry pi I shorten it to RPI. Certainly not a standard, but it is a distinction.
