Re: OpenCPN General

Pavel..

I have a direct AIS feed from Siitech but it still should not move MY boat to the deep South.

Re: OpenCPN General

Tore,
it should not move your boat IF it does not contain other data than AIS. Which is what you should check. IMHO the chances of a bug in OpenCPN inventing your boat's position exactly in a harbor several thousand miles from your actual position are pretty close to zero.

Check the NMEA stream (checkbox on the GPS tab in Toolbox) and look for any non-!AI... sentences.

Re: OpenCPN General

Pavel..

I have two separate AIS feeds, one is Siitech and the other AISHUB.

With the Siitech feed,my boat moves to the Savannah River, but with
the AISHUB feed,it does NOT.

Notice the 'Position' indicator also shown in Google Earth.

The Siitech data stream look fairly normal but I can not examine the data
from some 65000 vessels.

Tore

P.S. Is that not the location of Dave's catamaran?

Re: OpenCPN General

Tore...
The stream on your screenshot is full of GPS position data (GGA and RMC sentences) and there are no AIS messages there - this is what I would expect with a GPS connected, but never while receiving a supposedly AIS-only stream.

Re: OpenCPN General

Nohal..

I can only assume Siitech and AISHUB are feeding me different types AIS data because only the Siitech feed shows any data at all in OCPN.
World AIS

The AISHUB feed shows nothing, yet BOTH display all AIS targets on the OCPN map.

Re: OpenCPN General

There seems to be a fault in the 'reverse route' function in as much as it does not reverse the numeric sequence of the waypoints, they remain the same.
The date/time etc. is reversed ok but the beginning of the route and track does not start with 1-2-3 etc...

Not a bug!
Did you notice the dialog that popped up when you pressed "Reverse Route"?
It all depends on your answer to the question in the dialog!

Re: OpenCPN General

Thomas..

Have you tried it yourself? Either option makes no change in the waypoint numbers displayed on the chart. Nor does it alter the rotation of the actual waypoints in the list. The lowest latitude is always first in the list. Just looks confusing finishing the route with waypoint nr. 1. (Look to the right of the Route Manager panel)

Try importing the attatched .gpx route file.

Re: OpenCPN General

Thomas..

I think I've got it right now,EXCEPT all the SPOT OK numbers which are in the wrong sequence. I think that was which confused me. Have a look.

Unfortunately, the .gpx download facility in 'SpotWalla' provides the .gpx file of the route in the reverse order, having to alter it later in OCPN which obviously does NOT reverse the SPOT OK messages.

You have attached a track file not a route file. It's not created in OpenCPN, and contains "alien" elements.
If I make a route out of the supplied track and try to reverse it, your observation seems correct.
Try to make a route i OpenCPN yourself and reverse it, and you'll find that it works.

Re: OpenCPN General

Thomas..

Sorry,I sent you the wrong file... Have a look..
But,as you say,it contains 'alien' data, not used in OCPN.

It is not the waypoint list I was referring to but the (SPOT) OK position
numbers displayed on the chart, which, unfortunately are NOT reversable
in OCPN. I have asked 'SpotWalla' to provide all .gpx track downloads in
sequential order in the future.

Have a look: http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?...b4ecc15b582730

Re: OpenCPN General

Thomas..

For some reason all is now working correctly having downloaded the latest position .gpx report.
I reported the problem to SpotWalla but can't belive they have corrected it that fast.

Even the SPOT OK position numbers came in the right order.

The icon column entry normally is blank if the waypoint is not visible (hidden manually by clicking the icon in Route Manager, or in a hidden layer).

If you see a WPT icon on the chart but not in the Route Manager, then probably something is wrong. I noticed this behaviour as well now and then, when all the icons go blank when hiding a single wpt.
