Re: OpenCPN General

Rick, that is not working. These ETA calculator exist for more than 20 years in other prorams, someone must be able to built that; that is probably what is missing in Opencpn.
Thanks

Re: OpenCPN General

Dear P_Dub

Can you advise why this isn't what you are looking for? Is it a planning tool that gives ETA that you are looking for? See below. Thanks.

PS: Bdbcat and others have suggested developing a planning tool that would give ETA and other information using tidal information as well but nobody has had time or inclination to develop it.

Okay when you click "OK" at the bottom the selected directory will be included. Check the options for rebuild database and you are ready to go. Click "apply" and then "OK" and then wait a few minutes for the charts to be installed and then they should be ready to use. ASSUMING that the charts actually exist in that directory or subdirectories within it.

I already tried your suggestion. OpenCPN never finds any charts and the Charts folder is fully populated with RCN and ECN folders containing charts.

Re: OpenCPN General

After purchasing the paid version of OpenCPN for Android I can confirm that it is able to find all of the chart folders on an SD chip. Before it could do so, it asked that I grant it permission to access the SD chip. That never happened when I was trying the free version. I now think that the problem with the free version of OpenCPN for Android is that it doesn't have permission to access the SD card so it can only see the top level folders. It may be possible to give the free version permission using the Android app permissions settings but I haven't tried that now that I have been able to confirm that the paid for version seems to work well on an Android v6.0 (LG G4) phone.

Rick, it does not work taking into consideration the current. although the arrows are on the chart their seems to be something missing that they are not pointed for each leg.
Thanks.

P_Dub ...

Discussion about an alpha current routing plugin using gribs is here:

But are you thinking of routing using harmonics?

Re: OpenCPN General

And if you go back to your virus checker manufacturer informing about a "false positive"?

Btw.: which AV program this time? Even in Windows the built-in Defender is the most you might need.
