OpenCPN ignoring CurrentArrowScale and TideRectangleScale in opencpn.ini

OpenCPN beta opencpn-msvc_5.5.1031 and OpenCPN stable opencpn-msvc_5.2.4, Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, 3200 x 1800 display.

Current arrows are displayed much larger than tide rectangles. The result is not nice. See https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IrX...Vd-wvIx3W/view.

Options -> User Interface -> General Options -> Chart Object scale factor slider changes the size of both the current arrows and tide rectangles by the same factor, which doesn't solve the problem.

It used to be (version 4.something) that you could adjust the relative sizes of these objects by changing the values of
the CurrentArrowScale and/or TideRectangleScale variables in the opencpn.ini configuration file.

However in the latest stable and beta releases, those initialization variables have no effect.

Is there another way to adjust the relative sizes of these objects?

Thanks,

--Paul

Does options > User Interface > Chart scale object factor look like something familiar?

Paul...
Something funny going on here. I cannot reproduce the effect.

1. What are you scale values in settings->UserInterface?
2. Are you using Windows scaled display settings other than 100%?

See attached pix, one with chart object scale = 0, and one with scale = 2. You can see that the tide and current stations render in a similar scaler.

Please attach your config file.

Yes, in fact. I was using what Display Settings on this HP Envy 360 marks as (Recommended), which are 3200x1800 resolution, and 250% scale. All applications I normally use look fine with these settings, incuding OpenCPN, except its tide and current symbols.

Changing scale to 100% at that high resolution is awful, but with 100% and resolution scaled down by a factor of 2.5 to 1280x720, the tide and current symbols in OpenCPN now look like they do in your screenshots. Everything else looks better at 250% and 3200x1800 as you'd expect with all those pixels; fonts generally a lot crisper etc.

So, I would rather fix this issue by being able to set CurrentArrowScale and TideRectangleScale as with earlier versions.

How best to do that? As a .ini file, file type is invalid; as .txt, "Your file of 15.7 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 1,000 Bytes for this filetype."

Edit: NVM, here's a link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fHL...ew?usp=sharing
