Hello Dave,

If you complete the ".pot" file before the release of 2.3, put it quickly available to us so we can make a final update language file.

Moreover, it would be nice if those who make the translations are automatically notified as soon as you upload a new version of ".pot" file.

In the meantime, I put the latest version of the French language file done with the latest ".pot" found on sourceforge.

Norwegian translation 100% finished (OpenCPN, GRIB & Dashboard)

The .pot on sourceforge is the latest, should be complete. Let me know if you find missing translatables (other than GRIB PlugIn, which will not get done for this release.)

Just found missing translation - Statusbar COG: ----- Deg
Deg for the statusbar is not in the .po file.

Also some missing in the Dashboard plugin...
You will get the new files by mail any minute now.

1° Ok for .po and .mo of general french file language. I have posted an updated file yesterday. And without new .pot, I do not change it.

2° I finally realized, thanks to an exchange of emails with SethDart, that the ".po" and ".pot" for the dashboard and the Grib should be taken in the source code and were not posted separately.

So, I join an updated French language files for the dashboard and the grib.

3° Can I apply for the names of the files fr.po and fr.po of plugin Dashboard and plugin Grib. These are the same for dashbord and grib in the source code. It is not practical for us.


Is it possible that these names are the same names that are used in the program ?

Yes, it's an outdated link. We switched from CVS to Git after the 2.1 release, so now you have to look under SourceForge - opencpn/opencpn/tree
Also note that there is not just the localization of the main program but also a separate localization for each of the plug-ins to be found in plugins/pluginX_pi/po

Just installed OCPN on one of my linux laptops, im not able to select any other language than English...
Any one got any good ideas on what is wrong? Running Ubuntu 10.10 x86

You have to install one of the Norwegian language-packs first.

sudo apt-get install language-pack-nn

or

sudo apt-get install language-pack-nb

then restart OpenCPN and you will find Norwegian as a choice in the language selection menu.

The same kind of action enables other supported languages.
