There is one problem left ...
No matter what I've tried I couldn't manage to show up any of the selected COM ports in OpenCPN!?
Of course I have closed and re-started OCPN every time I changed the setting in NacMonPc.
Also the monitoring there shows that the file is being played.
But no connection with OCPN ...!

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gunther
Scuse me Gunter, but I am arriving on my house now.

The order of actions below is mandatory:

1° Run NavMonPc in first (with OCPN shutdown) and then :

File/connections/ and choose the virtual serial port A
On the left, you see "Closed". In this windows, choose the name of a port com. By exemple "COM3"
and then click on "Connect"

2° In NavMonPc :
File/Playfile
Click on the button "NMEA File" and select, in your PC, the file that you have dowmload with the link in "EauxTurquoises".
Then click "Play" and choice 1X or 10X (as you prefer).

3° Do not shutdown NavMonPc

4° Run OpnCPN (and only now, this is important)

In Toolbox/GPS :
- for GPS, choose "AIS Port shared"
- NMEA baud : 4800
In Toolbox/AIS :
- for AIS, choose the name of the port that you have choice at the 1°T time. 'In my example Com3)
- Select other item as you prefer ....

5° On the iconbarr, click on the "Red boat".

Then, normally, all is OK and you can see your boat on right of Goldengate in San Francisco bay. And other boats are present ....

Thanks for your answer.
I have done all as described (also at the first time) but the COM port is not present in the drop-down list.
Are you sure this works with Windows 7?

Gunther

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Why have not Norwegian 506 translation not been included in the latest beta? (523)
Last language files that was included is 2.4.423...

Also corrections to installer was not included properly...

That's not true!
If you would use the "official" build (from opencpn.org) the installer will show "Norsk" instead of "Norwegian".

BTW: This is a fault in the NSIS package and has nothing to do with OpenCPN. So nothing to fix here. Everybody who compiles a version has to fix this in his local NSIS installation.

Up "now, few people seem to have made the simulation run. Only GPS-Marco seems to have succeeded (see his post in this thead). In France, nobody has ever spoken on the forum.

I only have XP machines at my disposal. So I do not know if it works under vista W or W 7.

That said, I must always be very careful in the start of this simulation. The slightest error in the process and like you I do not list the COM port.

Gilletarom.
It does work with Vista (and openCpn 523)

BTW, the PacCupStart.txt file that Sethdart suggested to download does not work.
http://www.navmonpc.com/Downloads/PacCupStart.txt
You must use the PacCupStart_Windows.text one
http://www.eauxturquoises.fr/a_tutop...rt_Windows.zip
linked in the French tutorial

Don't ask me why....

Using Sethdart's VDR is simpler...

OK - it does work for Windows 7, too! At least for the 32Bit version (read about problems with some drivers for x64 systems).

The solution is that you also have to install the bundled SerialTools application!!!
Why can't they write a word about it???

Now it works like a charm without any problems.

So again many thanks for your help.

Gunther

Hi Gunther.

I noticed that this was changed, but there was several fixes to be done.
I'll post a few screenshots...
Look at the highlighted text.

The ones to be fixed:
Needs a fix = Like it should be

Version = Versjon
Norske = Norsk
Click = Klikk (This is line 73-74 in Langstrings_NORWEGIAN.nsh.in and it has not been included...)
Default configuration settings = Standard konfigurasjons innstillinger (This is line 82-83 in Langstrings_NORWEGIAN.nsh.in and it has not been included...)
Installer = Installasjons program (as in "OpenCPN Installer", located at the bottom of the installer).

  • The word Version is common trough the whole installer and should read "Versjon" in Norwegian/Norsk.
  • The word "Norske" has only been changed to "Norsk" in the selector but as you see it still reads "Norske" in the text.
  • "Default configuration settings" has not been used from the translation at all.
Please have a look at this

Exact, je me souviens que j'ai bricolé le fichier fourni sur le site de NavMonPc pour que ça marche ! Je l'avais oublié.

Right, I remember that I have cobbled together the provided file NavMonPc site to make it work! I had forgotten.

Hello.

The last Italian translation I sent in post #240 is not delivered with latest OpenCPN 523: is it OK?

Ciao, Marco.

It is another file/ application which is packaged in the NavMonPc-1.09-Setup.exe!

After the installation of NavMonPC on the last site of the installer, there is a checkbox for installing 'SerialToolsXP'. But no further information so I unchecked the box.
So when installing this too the installation directory of NavMonPC looks like on the attached image.

But it might be that this only pops-up on Windows 7 and/ or is not necessary on XP?

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Frode ...

OK, now I understand your complaint (thought only of the language selection list).

Well, in fact it is so that I also have other things to do and I do not know in advance when Dave releases a new beta version.
And so it may happen that the latest translations aren't added to a beta release - sorry about that.

But if you compile a version on your own your free to add it.
And all your translation work (and those of others) is not lost and will be included in the next stable release at the very latest.

Gunther

Nice Gunther.
You lads do a great job.

About compiling... I tried, but came short... To many dependencies that did not install correctly on my Win7 x64 computer, so I dropped it.

Haven't given it a try on my linuxbox yet, and I doubt that I will give it a try.
