Dutch language files for OpenCPN version 2.4.523 beta attached. Now corrected as much as possible for internationally (European) agreed translations for inland shipping (see my previous posts; my own, initial translations were not bad at all ).

Nav, thank you for your research.

I consulted the document that contains information in French.

I think that in France, our collective work gave an excellent result for the translation of technical items relating to inland navigation. I have not found many errors. Just a few little details that I'm going to change in our file.

Best regards

Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Hello Dave,

Another improvement in French language file.

It contains some detail improvements for items relating to internal water navigation.
Most importantly, after careful work on the tab "Layers" of the "tracks, roads, waypoint and Layers " manager, it took make substantial corrections to certain items.

Best regards

Gilletarom.

For version 2.4.606, in the Route Properties window the following items are still in English only (can't find them in .po file):
- Next tide event
- Extend route
- Split route

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Regarding the installer...
I see that there has not been any change in the Norwegian installer language since the last version... Is this just a glitch?

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

hello Dave,

Here my first work for the french language file for 240-606.

I do not know what this item is: "Show layers INITIALLY"

I have not seen it work. So, perhaps, his translation is not correct.

wait and see.

Best regards

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Still working on the German translation ..., and yet another problem/ question.

It's about the AIS target query.
I want to see all values in the same orientation. Unfortunately the original strings are all filled with spaces ..., which is not that ideal for the translation. So I thought I am going to use tabs (\t) instead of counting characters. Refering to the documentation of the Printf function this should be possible.

Sadly that seems to be wrong or I am doing something wrong ...

Example:
original string : "Class: "
translated string: "Klasse:\t\t"

On the two screenshots below you can see the result ...!
So my question is:"What am I doing wrong or is there another method to achieve this without using spaces?"

Thanks

Gunther
