I found the Github Repository, I was looking for nvcharts_pi,

Gille you are right there is no PO directory.

I see that this plugin was updated 3 years ago, and is compatible with 4.2-4.84

Has anyone used the PI with NVcharts recently?

I use this pi with NV-Charts recently. No problem. All is Ok.

by the way, i tried to copy to share\locale\zh_CN\LC_MESSAGES, not working;
and then i create a folder "lang" under opencpn installation folder, not working either.

Support for new language locales needs to be also added in the code (zh_CN simplified Chinese is as of now supported in the master branch)
For testing purposes you can overwrite some of the existing .mo files with yours even in the current released version.

As Hubert already noted, the OpenCPN translations are maintained at https://crowdin.com/project/opencpn - please continue the translation there so that it fits with our semi-automatic processes (Poedit can be directly pointed at the translations in Crowdin, there is no need to use the web GUI if you don't want to)

I am preparing a release version of ShipDriver. No planned changes from the January 2018 pot file already in Crowdin. If your language is not at 100% help with the translation for this plugin would be appreciated.

In preparation for Release of OCPN Version5, we have updated the crowdin source with the new translatable strings for this version.


Translation of OpenCPN to alternate languages is a group effort, requiring simply the knowledge of English, and another language. Basic familiarity with OpenCPN is assumed as well. It is easy and rewarding. If so inclined, please have a look and join us in the internationalization effort.

Hello Hakkan,

I worked this morning on the French translation of Dashboard-Tactics. There are a few items that I have not translated. This is because I do not have sufficient experience with the operation of this plugin.

I started by installing update the "Master" list and installing the latest version of the GPS-Odometer_pi plugin.

I observe after checking Crowdin, that there are some strange things. There are items, translated into French on my PC, but missing from the language file of this plugin in Crowdin.

Hello translators..


In preparation for upcoming OCPN 5.6 release, we still have some strings that are not yet translated. There are some terms missing in some fairly popular languages, such as Dutch, Norwegian, Danish, Italian. Czech, etc.



If you have the time, please have a look at the crowdin project and help us fill out the remaining translations. Doesn't take long, and it is kind of fun.
