Opencpn keeps crashing crashfile.exe

Dear all,
My husband is atm making passage from Polynesia to Canada and suddenly Opencpn won't open anymore (crashes immediately) he is using version 5 right now but we also have an older version which also doesnt work. He gets the error; error launching crashsender.exe after some online research it seems that it might be more of a windows problem. Could it have something to do with OpenGL? He is using it for the radarplugin from Navico.
He already tried to uninstal and reinstall but alas... anybody any idea how he can fix this (on iridium go, so low data).

Delete the configuration file, on Windows likely C:\ProgramData\opencpn\opencpn.ini
