Dave,

Good progress! But in full screen mode there is still a bright white strip near the chart bar.

Similarly, the context menu (right mouse click) is blindingly bright. As are the borders of the tools dialog. Plugin dialogs are inconsistent as well. I guess there is no API that plugins can use to determine whether they should change border colors for night mode.

OpenCPN - Night mode is not really a night!

Dave,

I spoke too soon. Eventually the white line went away. Not sure why it took some time. This was under Windows 10 which I am learning has some graphics issues.

Edit: Opening the tools dialog then closing it removes the bright white line between chart bar and status bar. Not sure why it doesn't go away at first though.

Dave, thank you! Looks good.
It remains only to bring order to the windows and menus mentioned by Sean

During the day, computer screens look good—they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.

Urgent problem again!
When using night mode visible white border that makes the overall picture in the dark bright. This picture is blind at night.

Alternatively, use a contrasting theme in Windows but it is not convenient because you have to switch to a normal topic
Need a clear picture in a dark night mode!
agree, on Windows I use f.lux to overcome this issue but on Raspi I suffer!
Also find it difficult to find the icon for switching back to daylight when I accidentally switched to nightmode during the day !

Re: OpenCPN - Night mode is not really a night!

Dave, I wrote to you in PM that after version 4.8 a white frame appeared in the night mode, which disappears if you switch to full screen mode. But if you initially boot into full-screen mode, the frame remains. Video attached https://www.dropbox.com/s/pzyju5u6i1...tmode.mp4?dl=0
Also, the video work of the night mode CoastalExplorer consider it to be the best even in comparison with MaxSea TimeZero https://www.dropbox.com/s/zgnwgm135g...0Mode.mp4?dl=0

In the attachment, my options are twilight mode and night.
that that is taken from the CE something from the Transas. Symbolic objects (SMCFAC) are also extended and standard ones are improved. If this is something interesting to try to fix and publish

Re: OpenCPN - Night mode is not really a night!

Will there be a refinement of the night mode for windows and the context menu under Windows? There have been no changes in this direction since 15 years!
