OpenCPN offline plugin Instalation

I am trying to install OpenCPN 5.6 on a pc that is not near any internet connection and not easy to remove and bring closer to a LAN. I have the main install file, but how can I find the latest plugins to perform a offline installation, and what problems am I going to run into while trying this.

The integrated Plugin down loader is great for when you have a connection, but I am trying to find out how to do it the hard way

Yes there is rather comfortable method.
Go to the OCPN Plugin manager, PM, Options->Plugins. Normally you refresh the master catalog and install desired plugin. But there's a off-line method as well. The button "Import" can be used to install a plugin from a file called a Tarball. For each plugin you can find a tarball suitable for your system/machine.

Visit the OpenCPN plugin download page. There in the bottom are instructions for "Plugin tarballs downloader". Follow the link at: "available here".
There you can select desired plugin and your platform and also if existent a plugin version for download and further transfer to your off-line PC.

If your platform is Windows or MacOS life is here simple.
If Linux and you can't tell what will fit your platform you may need to check your platform designation in OCPM PM the button "Settings". There you'll find the default platform name. But to reach "Settings" you've to tweak the configuration file as advised.
