Re: OpenCPN On Tablet Computer

Thanks Pete. I'm not always going to have the luxury of a perfectly dry nav station so will need to find a waterproof / water resistant case of some sort. Hopefully something better than a zip-lock bag. Issues with the stylus while underway isn't too surprising, but I am more concerned that the USB ports are dropping their connection. Could it be related to a power conservation setting?

Re: OpenCPN On Tablet Computer

I settled on loading LinuxMint 12 on mine. I use a bluetooth mouse rather than using the stylus underway. Mine is located in the pilothouse of my 25' C-Hawk, so stays dry and out of the weather. I feed the output of a Garmin 126 GPS through a serial to USB adapter for position data. I power the tablet with a 12v to 16v adapter from an old panasonic laptop.

Re: OpenCPN On Tablet Computer

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

What if I install "Ubuntu Installer" from Google Play and then install OpenCPN Ubuntu package - will I then be able to use OpenCPN on my Android tablet?

Anyone tried that, can this work? Or am I missing something?
