Question OpenCPN.org DNS Problem?

Is there any problem with tha main SITE of OpenCPN?

It points now to a Godaddy page!

Godaddy is the registrar, and the .com address expires
Expires on: 04-Mar-10
but the .org address
Expiration Date:04-Mar-2011 09:28:09 UTC
and is set to "Status:AUTORENEWPERIOD "
and "Registry Status: OK"

It's understandable why .com isn't working, but less than clear why opencpn.org has been blocked by godaddy.
Manimaul is aware of the situation.

dns

I emailed Dave about this. Unfortunately the registrar will not listen to me since I'm not registered as the domain owner. Somehow the domain dns pointers changed to:

NS17.DOMAINCONTROL.COM and
NS18.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

brining opencpn.org down.

ofcourse, they need to be

dns1.southbaynetwork.com
dns2.southbaynetwork.com

I'm not sure why this changed all of a sudden but Dave is the only one who can fix this. Hopefully he can get email where he is at.

Thomas, I have different result on godaddies very own lookup:

Super annoying.. Could you put a free temporary domain on a redirect to the IP?

Good idea, I emailed Jerry at southbay to do just that.

or you could put:

Code:
208.73.48.227 opencpn.org
in /etc/hosts (Linux)
or c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows)

and restart your you web browser until this is fixed.

you could probably use a temporary freedns (afraid.org and such) subdomain to point to the web site (of course it also needs to be set up as an additional virtual host). not that it would help much since it would not be very well known, but it beats using direct IP address.

I bet they have the .org forwarded to the .com. Should be the other way around. GoDaddy refuses to fix this since I don't have an account. We will have to wait for Dave.
