Dave: During installation the language selection is wrong again: Norsk has been replaced with Norwegian. It should read "Norsk" and not "Norwegian".

sethdart.....

Maybe (probably?) we should use KML as our data structure, for some easier portability.

But I think we will want a simple embedded editor in the PlugIn for drawing text, lines, icons, etc. without leaving O and/or having to import from another application while editing. This need be no more elaborate than a simple thing , ala Windows "Paint".

Just thinking ahead...

Re: OpenCPN Release Candidate Version 3.1.1328 Released

First... Thank you, thank you, thank you for adding GPS upload support for Furuno GPS!!!

I am having the same problem uploading routes to a Furuno GP-31. Everything appears fine and both OpenCPN and the Furuno GPS indicate the upload is successful, but only the waypoints are being transferred to the GPS. The route information, linking them all together is not being transferred.

Thanks again for this important improvement. I've been waiting a couple years for this so I can finally completely switch from Maxsea.

relfectionsv37...

The next RC, 3.1.1405 will release tomorrow. This has a specific fix for Furuno route uploads.

Will you please download this RC, test the Furuno code carefully, and report back to this Forum with the results? We have very few Furuno users, and I have no access to the hardware...

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Release Candidate Version 3.1.1328 Released

Dave,

I'll download and test thouroughly tomorrow. I captured the NEMA stream for the upload and as another reported, the first waypoint was missing. The route information is being sent. I suspect, if the first waypoint is included, everything will work fine.

I'll let you know as soon as I get it tested.

I'm in Gizo in the Solomon Islands and we are under a tsunami warning from an 8.0 quake that struck the eastern side of the Solomon Islands about 2 hours ago. Hopefully, I'll still be here tomorrow!!

Can you post a vdr recording of a stream that exhibits dropouts? We should be ablt to extract the required timing info from the embedded RMC messages...

Thanks

Dave,
I've been trying for the last few days and still haven't been able to reproduce the behavior that I initially reported and so haven't posted a VDR recording as I didn't capture it as it was occurring.

The dropout I'd seen was only occurring on the 'GPS Status' on the Dashboard so not sure it was linked to the RMC message or not.

If I do manage to reproduce it again I'll capture the data stream and post it with more info.

matriks...
The range of the speedometer gauge will be configurable in the next version (I just commited this change to the repository), until then please survive with the numeric STW/SOG instruments if your boat is going faster than 12 kts...

bok bok
