OpenCPN under Wayland on Raspberry pi 4

Hello,

Does OpenCPN work under Wayland on Raspberry pi 4? Does anyone have any experience setting it up?

Thanks,

Re: OpenCPN under Wayland on Raspberry pi 4

Of course it does. I've been using it on wayland for over a year now. But for that you will need to install the gnome desktop as the official Raspi OS desktop does not support wayland.

Maybe this link will help you:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/v...?f=66&t=276512

Although in the explanation of the link they indicate you to change to xorg the truth is that I use preferably wayland. However there are tools that when requesting superuser access in graphic mode do not work under wayland -like gdebi- since they use a different method, wayland uses pkexec instead of the old gksu. Apart from that I have not seen any detectable errors and yes a smoother operation.

Everything is explained in detail in the link I gave you before, both the step-by-step explanation and the script that does it automatically. Take a look at it.
