So I used a translation of "another OCPN"

In communications "counterpart" describes it as well.

Re: OpenCPN v5.7.1 Translations

What is a "socketCAN" ?

Probably should not be translated.
It is a word like "ethernet", i.e. relatively well known in the one field of use where it is encountered.

Re: OpenCPN v5.7.1 Translations

Gilletarom:
"Is it spelled correctly, or should it be spelled "Adjust Com Priorities"?"

Should be "Comm", as in short-hand for "Communication".
Trying to manage test string lengths for small devices.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN v5.7.1 Translations

Gilletarom:
"BUT, again the files oernc_pi.pot, oeRNC plugin (for Android), oeSENC_pi.pot, oeSENC plugin for Android.

What are these 4 files currently used for, since the oeRNC and oeSENC plugins have ceased to be used?"

Those four files are saved in crowdin for backup reasons. They are no longer being updated from source code, so no need to do any translations for these files.

Thanks
Dave

bcn...
"GridText" is the font name identifier used for the text associated with the lat/lon grid overlay.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN v5.7.1 Translations

Just go here:
get an account of Crowdin and start translating.
https://crowdin.com/project/opencpn

In that case, Spanish is done already from my side, but it would be great to have somebody else to cover that part.

Gracias!

OMG, really great job, I've been doing small make-up translations to fit more "seaman's" like.

you must be proud of the job done

not sure what you really want to say in English when referred to AIS and piracy also.

could you explain in English the meaning?
I could guess that something referred to the "Piracy reporting Centers"

Te refieres a "Piracy/Armed robbery attack"? Son frases hechas de las alertas (Distress). Nothing to do with the special reporting centers for piracy.

but you know that in Spanish " Center-Info-Close" could be translated in different ways depending what you really are expressing in English, so that's why am I asking the explanation in English of these only three words after previous translation of AIS messages and Piracy alerts.

BTW: I had to do not so long ago (2018) some communications about pirate attach in Indian Ocean with Singapore centre, I had to say that communications with the anti-piracy centre was perfect, in time and really helpful.

Re: OpenCPN v5.7.1 Translations

"Center - Info - Close" is an option in the AIS target list (canvas right-click).

Centers the view on the selected target, displays the info window and closes the AIS Target List
