OpenCPN v5.8.4-3 flatpak install crashing - not plugins - how to troubleshoot further

Hi All ! Was excited to have a couple of charter trips planned this summer. Fired up my new OpenSUSE Tumbleweed laptop, loaded the flatpak OpenCPN version. Copied over my old install version from my old Tumbleweed laptop.

Thing started up perfectly fine. I went to the Chart updater, and updated all of the charts. On rebuild of the chart indexes - OpenCPN crashed. Now it starts up for a few seconds then crashes. Doesn't matter if I say "Yes" or "No" to disable plugins.

I also removed the [data|config]/opencpn/plugins directories and tried starting up - same behavior. My assumption is it is not related to Plugins. When I manually start OpenCPN via flatpak, the only error I see is:

Code:
Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
My system does have the following canberra related packages installed:

- libcanberra-gtk-module-common
- libcanberra-gtk2-module
- libcanberra-gtk3-module

I'm manually starting at shell with:

Code:
flatpak -vv run org.opencpn.OpenCPN 2>&1 | tee /tmp/opencpn.log
Outside of this - I'm uncertain how to go about debugging what is really crashing OpenCPN on startup. Any pointers or hints would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get some route planning done for a trip in 1 week !!!

cruisersforum won't let me upload the log file (too big - even zipped) ... pastebin thinks there's obscene language in the log file (WTH?!!) ... so here's a pastecode.io posting of the logfile...
