Yes, I can confirm on Windows. It was probably not anticipated that one would change between single/dual canvas while a dialog is open. "Everything can happen "out there"?
I suppose you've learned but it can happens to others.

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

This happens after closing the properties window. Once a properties window has been opened and closed in dual canvas mode switching back to single canvas is doomed. I should probably report this on github because it is fairly trivial but that isn't familiar territory for me.

mgrouch...

Please answer the question.
I have "any" HDMI screen, though it is not touch aware. So this helps me not at all.

No OCPN developer has access to an equivalent touch-enabled HDMI monitor on rPI-5, so we will need to purchase one to resolve this problem. Probably best to purchase exactly the one you have, or very near equivalent. Do you see?

Thanks
Dave

re:
"Chart downloader doesn't work for me. Hangs OpenCPN.
I go to download ENC for US Coast Guard District 1, I update catalog, Right click, Select All Charts.
The it hangs after pressing Download Selected Charts button. On pi5 bookworm.

"
Cannot reproduce. Works fine for me.
Anyone else experiences?

Thanks

I’ve tried four times and it hung every single time consistently.

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

macOS 14.5 on ARM MacMini M1:
- chart downloader works, however the usual progress counter of downoaded files does not count up. Just the activity spinner. Works ok on W11.

- z-order of windows: chart catalog update progress window stays behind the Option window. One has to move the Option window in order to understand what is going on. This is a long outstanding glitch on macOS, not new in 5.9

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

Raspberry Pi 5 - Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm - Official touchscreen

X11

- 2-fingers zoom in charts only works in flatpak, not in debian repo (official touchscreen).

- right click in charts works for debian repo and flatpak (official touchscreen).

- flatpak version does not work in remote desktop. OpenCPN does not start.

Wayland

- The menu bar with zoom, boat and hamburger icons is no longer stuck in the center, great! but the settings menu is still there and is very small (same for debian repo and flatpak):

- 2-fingers zoom in charts only works in flatpak, not in debian repo (official touchscreen).

- right click in charts works for debian repo and flatpak (official touchscreen).

- Both debian repo and flatpak versions work in remote desktop.

Dave has updated Git master code to fix this.
So now on my Win10 I can switch one/dual Canvas also when WP properties is, or has been, open. No crash.

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

O 5.9.1 It seems that windows version and RPI bookworm are not using the same template of language, because in my windows O5.9.1 the strings are correct but not in the O5.9.1 of RPI.
Using plain with o.s. not using anything (neither openplotter nor Flatpack)

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

5.9.1 in RPI bookworm 64, download charts takes too long and could not be seen the progress. Sometimes I have thought that the program was hanged and closed it by terminating.
RPI4 / 8GB / USB SSD 256 GB and 1 GB of parallel internet fibre connection connected to router via Wi-Fi.

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

Orange pi 5, basically vanilla Debian with kernel parches for different SOC ( RK3588S).
  • Starts fine in remote desktop + X11. But this not using the RealVNC bundled with Raspberry but the standard xrdp package available in the Debian repos.
  • Looks fine, see screenshot. @saillog: Is it about that you have a smaller screen resolution?
  • Cannot run Wayland, the orange pi kernel patches are yet not in place.
  • Using Flatpak

@Corsair63: I cannot really reproduce this, although I see a minor glitch in the downloader feedback. See https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/issues/3987

Windows 10.

Radar Plug in unfortunately still shows wrong labels in night time mode of OpenCPN.
Can only be reverted by restarting OpenCPN.
