Schnapsy...

As usual, misunderstanding is easy without screenshots. Mea culpa.
Though, to be fair, this sentence is a little hard for me to parse"

"Whatever the initial choice of speed used (3 or 4 or 8 knots), the road slump is always done at 6 knots..."

I'll take a closer look.

Thanks

Schnapsy...
I understand the problem. It was already on my list. Gilletarom's comment about routing seems a distraction.
Anyway, fixed for next Beta

Thanks

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

The upload of routes or waypoints to a Garmin Garmin GPSMAP 66st Handheld does not work in OpenCPN v5.8.2/v5.8.4. I tested the issue again for v5.9.1, documented here:

https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/issues/3651

Used Windows versions for testing:
opencpn_5.8.2-0+448.9f64845_setup
opencpn_5.8.4-0+627.1637c28_setup
opencpn_5.9.1-0+1622.b2cbf5a_setup

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

Re: Garmin uploads,

should be working in the beta as per this fix. It's certainly working with my old handheld GPS Map 76S.

Note that the Connections User Interface has changed a little, so make sure that you've enabled the Garmin mode for uploads option.

From the screenshot, I notice that you are not using OpenGL.
Any particular reason?
Comments, anyone?

Just curious.

- No particular reason, just testing, sorry. Added an screenshot of the "Chart Panel Option" issue with OpenGL enabled under Wayland (under X11 this window is justified to the right).

- OpenGL can not be enabled in flatpak version (Wayland and X11).

- 2-fingers zoom only works in flatpak version (Wayland and X11).

- Right click does work. Debian, flatpak, X11 and Wayland.

- Initial configuration buttons are hidden on 7" screens. See screenshot. Debian, flatpak, X11 and Wayland.

- Scroll is missing in connections tab. See screenshot. Debian, flatpak, X11 and Wayland.

Does not work for me on GPS 73. Will try on gpsmap 76.

Right click by touch doesn’t work everywhere where it’s supposed to.
In chart downloader I can’t use long touch to select all charts.
It looks like event handler of it is attached on to chart canvas.

It seems that opencpn flatpak crashing when running in remote desktop (VNC) or in the official touch screen could be related to OpenGL. After disabling OpenGL in opencpn, it runs ok in both scenarios.

In Wayland, opengl can not be enabled even after forcing it in conf file.

In X11, opengl can be enabled but it crashes in remote desktop (VNC) and in the official touchscreen.

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

Opencpn opens minimized in Ubuntu 24.04

See screen capture.
To reproduce, Run Opencpn Maximize it, quit opencpn. Next time you run opencpn it will open minimized to the minimum as shown in the picture.
If O is not minimized when quitting it will open OK.

Opencpn.conf content after closing O:
canvasSizeX=1298
canvasSizeY=674

Opencpn.conf content after opening O but before resizing:
canvasSizeX=0
canvasSizeY=0

Ubuntu 24.04 opencpn 8767+b2cbf5a3f~ubuntu24.04.1

Works ok under Ubuntu 22.04 with opencpn 8767+b2cbf5a3f~ubuntu22.04.1

I just tried the beta version on KDE Neon. It now runs without mesa_glthread=false .

The AIS targets size can be adjusted in Options->User-> "Ship scale factor" - slider. Did you tried that?

Radar targets are instantly updated. AIS targets can be delayed up to ~6 minutes. Could that be the reason?

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.1 Beta test starts

Ivanm.
I'm on W10 at home using the radar Emulator and there they match. Both overlay and the PPA window. I'm using radar_pi's ARPA function.

I don't recognize the green checked circle symbol (Halo...) on you picture. What's that?
I have a 3G and no Halo..

But I'll test onboard with the live radar. But could take a day or two.
What's your system?
