OpenCPN v5.9.2 Beta test released

Eek! It's bad enough having all this stuff once - twice is just completely OTT. It ruins a useful thread making it largely unreadable. Why ever didn't you put this in an attachment?

The chart scale display bottom right has changed in Beta 2.
This is the box that displays +, - , the present scale, the centre to current position and the hamburger to display chart panel options.

In Beta 1 the scale box is horizontal and includes the present scale for me. You can click on the present scale and it opens a window in which you can set a specific scale. Very useful.

In Beta 2 the scale box is vertical and the present scale is missing.

If I go back to Beta 1 it is correct, so it is not my options that have changed, unless there are new ones I need to discover?

The MUI box is vertical and minimized if the space is limited. That's nothing new.
My picture from Win10 and Beta2. I think there was some scaling patches to Beta2. What's your system?

On MacBook M2.
With Beta 1 I have to reduce the window size to about 1/3 of screen width before it minimizes.
With Beta 2 it is minimised with window filling entire screen.

OT - how do you get the split screen with different chart zoom levels?

The depths of UWTROC and WRECKS are still not highlighted when they are less than the Safety Depth. Win 10.

Here's a new one. I just discovered this pop up after closing another program. OpenCPN has been up for a few hours (and is still up)

I see in my ProgramData/opencpn folder TWO log files with a timestamp of 15 minutes ago, and same size (2,758 KB)
opencpn.log
opencpn.log.log

Looks like the attempt to make a new log file got buggered up somehow.
Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (with latest Windows update from last night)
Rebooted this morning, a few hours ago.

Contents of both files appear the same. Last log entry in either was 15 minutes ago at 11:00).

The error apparently occurred at 11:00, as that's the file timestamp. Then nothing logged until I OK'd the popup. Last few lines before 11:00

Another very minor quirk I just noticed in OpenCPN 5.9.2-0 on Windows 11
It's repeatable.

1. Double-click on any AIS target
2. Click Record Track, and acknowledge the pop-up
3. Click OK or the X-box on the AIS Target screen
---> Both AIS Target screen AND OpenCPN main screen go away
OpenCPN still running, it is just minimized.

This only happens in this sequence. It does not happen if you just open the AIS Target screen and close it, or open it and turn OFF tracking. Only when turning on tracking.

I can confirm this issue on my W10 although O is not minimized. The focus is moved to an underlying app instead of back to OCPN.

Hi,

I have seen a crash several times when panning and zooming with quite a few mbtiles open. The error messages displayed are shown below, they were all originally on top of each other with the central one at the back, I have spread them out. The log file is also attached.


Windows 11 pro.
