Hello,

After completely uninstalling the O593 version, the installation of the O594 went smoothly. The Wizard was in French.

This time I did not try to choose the set of marine charts in the Wizard.

After, having installed and activated the o-charts plugin I noticed as with the 593, that the o-charts plugin did not appear when I selected "Options/Charts".

It is imperative to stop and restart OpenCPN for o-charts to appear there.

I was able, after having made o-charts appear in "Options/Charts" and after having manually added my set of Fr-Uk marine charts in the "Options/Charts/Folders" and it was displayed without having to call the o-charts.org website.

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.4 Beta test released

Concerning GRIB and WeatherRouting, during the first attempt to search for a weather route, a message announces that the Grib plugin is unsuitable.

BUT, by having validated this message, the search for a weather route could take place. In the screenshot, the weather route stops where the downloaded grib file stops. This is normal.
If we check the box "Continue with the latest data", no problem.

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.4 Beta test released

The latest beta (flatpak) works well on all the systems here.

Upgrade of the O-charts plugin did not work. I had the switch off the old plugin first.

The install of the grib files direct in OpenCPN is a nice feature.

In de grib window do the choice @ and then you can download a selection of grib files.

Thanks for all the good work to improve this chartplotter software.

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.4 Beta test released

Using the Autotrack Raymarine plugin, with NMEA2000 connected via Ethernet, OpenCPN will hang a few minutes after enabling the plugin. The is no crash, OCPN just stops responding until Windows asks to close it.

I tested and have the same result on 3 computers. This has occurred since the NMEA2000 over Ethernet feature was added.

I unfortunately do not have a USB to 2000 adapter, on the Ethernet (wifi) gateway. I suspect it is the new code that enables NMEA2000 over Ethernet that is causing the error.

Wholybee..

Will you describe the exact config, setup, and user steps necessary to reproduce this effect?

Thanks

InterpidCF...
More detail, please. Please post XML files. Have they ever worked in the past, for any version of OCPN?

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.4 Beta test released

Hi. No they have not worked in past versions hence was wondering if there was any update. I tried to post a topic on this but it just gets removed as I don't have a history on the forum.

Have attached an example . It shows the time stamps fine when you load it in, but then when you shut OpenCPN and reopen they are gone. All I can think of its its the altitude field causing issues. Tired this on Mac and PC

Re: OpenCPN v5.9.4 Beta test released

Hi it seems to be the time stamp format . Navionics is using fractions of a second (h:m:s.ms) ; vs OpenCPN is using just whole seconds (h:m:s). If I take out the fractions of a second manually it works but that is not practical. Is this something that could be implemented into the update?

<trkpt lat="35.024322" lon="-76.695613">
<time>2024-07-04T15:58:41.083Z</time>
</trkpt>

vs the OpenCPN accepts

<trkpt lat="14.440640000" lon="-60.887620000">
<time>2019-11-27T17:31:15Z</time>

Windows 11 (or 10, reproducible on several machines). Fresh clean install of OpenCPN after deleting all related folders. All versions since and including the development build that first included NMEA2000 over Ethernet exhibit this behavior. Autotrack Raymarine is the only Plugin installed/enabled. Using a Yacht Devices YDWG-02 wireless gateway, TCP, RAW, port 1457, Both Directions. Controlling a Raymarine EV1 autopilot.

Open OpenCPN. Activate a route. Click "Auto" in the Autotrack Raymarine plugin window (that works). Click "Tracking" if plugin didn't automatically go into tracking made. The autopilot does it's thing for a few minutes, then OpenCPN freezes, and windows throws the "Application is not Responding" dialog.

Someone just emailed me a file and I can't see differences in the timestamps. Ah, but now I see the decimal seconds. Reported it here with example files and screenshots.

https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...rt-288286.html

I did clean the altitude and Navionics extensions and it still did the same thing. So its the decimal seconds, not anything else.

Curious thing is, it IMPORTS fine. Looks fine, shows no error. But the timestamps are gone after restarting OpenCPN

The timestamp of the start of the track recording is displayed only in UTC and should be in local time

The ONLY issue appears to be the decimal seconds, and even with that, it imports fine. Once imported, it looks fine on the track in OpenCPN. Shut down OpenCPN and start back up and the timestamps on that track are gone. So somewhere in the saving process on shutdown, and/or restoring process on startup, someone is burping () on what is imported.

By the way, in all this shutdown and startup, I noticed that the long pause in GPS input that was present in 5.9.3 seems fixed in 5.9.4.
